I'm a versatile generalist with programming background, adept at product management, and thrive in roles involving learning & exploring unknowns. I currently run a bootstrapped SaaS that has been used by over 1.7M users and we use Azure OpenAI GPT-4 for its AI features.

I'd like to contribute as a product manager, or take on any other role where I can leverage my zero to one skill set and founder experience. I'd be a good partner for a non-technical person who is building a venture on their own and wants a solid ally by their side.

I'm a versatile generalist with programming background, adept at product/program management, and thrive in roles involving learning and exploring unknowns.

I currently run a bootstrapped micro-SaaS that has been used by over 1.7M users and we recently added AI-powered features using Azure OpenAI GPT-4.

I can contribute as a technical product manager, but happy to take on any other responsibilities required to build a product/venture that is loved by the customers.

I'm a bootstrapped micro-SaaS founder with extensive experience in creating and managing customer-centric SaaS products, including launching AI-powered features using Azure OpenAI GPT-4.

I'm seeking to join a low-ego team tackling an interesting problem and that would be happy to have a generalist like me (with a tech background). I can wear multiple hats, from product/program management to customer research/support, and thrive in roles that involve learning and exploring unknowns.

From 2017 to 2022, I also contributed to rural community development and environmental initiatives in a Himalayan village. If your venture aims to make a positive social or environmental impact, I'd love to connect and see if I can add any value to your team.

Agreed. They are truly majestic.

Back when I saw them in Corbett national park with their kill, the thing that amazed me the most was their size. They looked bigger than a hatchback! (Ignorant me)

Jim Corbett's books have been recommended in this thread, and he talks about their behavior in the wild in great detail. Worth a read if you want to know more about them.

I started reading HN when it was called Startup News, and it has changed my life. I now live in a small village near the Himalayas, and run my startup called Resumonk (along with my Co-Founder). We both work remotely, pay ourselves well and have the freedom to live life completely on our terms. I'm now living my dream and HN played a huge role in it.

Apart from the learning related to startups/tech, reading the views of all the smart people here on a variety of other topics has made me a better person. It has also given me insights on different cultures & people from different backgrounds.

A big thanks to everyone who contributes here. Your words/submissions silently might be having a great positive impact in some corner of the world. Please keep sharing your knowledge & experience.

p.s. Also met my Co-Founder through HN when he did a 'Show HN' for Resumonk!

You can have a look at Resumonk - https://www.resumonk.com

The paid plan allows creation of multiple resumes/cover letters each customized for a particular job opening. It gives a 'Clone' option that creates a copy of the existing resume and you can then tweak it based on the job you are applying. All these versions of your resume/cover letter are available from your Dashboard for future reference.

Full Disclosure: I'm the Co-Founder of Resumonk.

May be you can think about building a platform where clients can submit their gigs and testers can work on those short projects. You already have a community, and some of them might like to earn additional income but can't find such opportunities easily.

From a client's perspective, we are looking 'vetted' testers who are detail oriented and can be relied upon for a thorough job.

My email address is in the HN profile. Feel free to contact me in case you'd like to discuss this further.

Wish you a lot more success in the future!

@rosiesherry - Congratulations for building up a good business along with what I assume a very hectic personal life (4 kids!). :-)

You've discontinued testing services, but I think there is a big market out there. We've been looking for a platform where we can list our website & its high level use cases, and then 1 or more testers can test it out thoroughly. We've tried sites like MyCrowd in the past, but didn't get a great result from them. Most testers just submitted cosmetic bugs and weren't as detail oriented as we'd like.

I'm sure there would be other startups who have similar needs for getting their sites/apps tested and can easily pay for such a service.

Are you (or anyone else here on HN) aware of any good testing services out there or a place where we can find good freelance testers?

Fantastic! Thanks for sharing your experience here. We are also bootstrapping a similar product (https://www.resumonk.com) and it's been a great ride so far.

Can we get in touch with you and exchange notes? You are planning to launch an English version, so we might be competitors in near future. But I'm sure it's a big market and there is enough room for all of us. :-)

Yes, we would be keen to try out such a service.

To make it a no-brainer for any business, find them a list of potential partners/affiliates through your research as part of their trial period. Don't reach out to them yet. If your trial customer likes it, they can sign up and start paying you monthly for this service. May be you can remove this trial later once you have established yourself or have enough case studies.

My contact information is in my profile. Feel free to reach out to me if you want to discuss further.

All the best.

Could you please remove the obnoxious photo of the woman's ass on Slide #5? You can probably spread the "Our product is sexy" message in a much better way.

These kind of images make a lot of females in the programming community feel uncomfortable and it's better if we don't have them in any work related presentations.

Patrick McKenzie (patio11) wrote about this topic in one of his newsletters. It is a must read.

He also did a podcast with Brennan Dunn on the same topic:

Would the subcontractor want to know how much he's getting paid vs the contract,
  would this affect his incentive?
Finding good & reliable subcontractors is hard. When you do find such a person, my suggestion is to be as transparent as possible with them. The most probable reason why this person (who we think is good) is subcontracting is either they can't get high value engagements on their own, or don't like the rigmarole of finding good clients. If that is the case, they should understand the markup being charged by you.

In the end, if it is a win-win situation for both, they would understand and be happy with it. Of course, the assumption here is that they are reasonable but that you'll have to judge after working with them for a while. I write this as a person who'd prefer working as subcontractor at this point of time.

SEEKING WORK - Remote

I have been shipping software for more than 10 years now and started freelancing a while back after my stint as a single founder. One of my first clients was a HN member for whom I did remote contract work for almost a couple of months.

I am proficient with Ruby on Rails and generally quite adept at picking up new technologies as per the needs of the product. I call myself a generalist, and if you are a non-technical person, I can handle most of the things for you that go in to building & launching a software product (including screen flows, server-side programming, system administration, analytics & a little bit of digital marketing.)

My last consulting assignment was related to conversion optimization(s) and driving growth for a startup in the education domain. I am up for any work that is challenging & stimulating. I'd prefer to pick up a long term remote work contract.

References from previous clients are available on request.
