This project looks great. Occasionally I need to write a reg expr (JS developer) and I am not that good at it and I always end up googling around. I am thinking it would be much nicer if I could use rulex to generate my reg expr. But is that what it is supposed to be for ? cheers

Good luck, but (in my opinion) even the most dynamic open sources don't change rapidly enough to justify your tool.

Excellent. Your solution is a common pattern after all. It's creating a DSL domain specific language and then obviously you need to write some kind of interpreter for it.

For all it matters, I found myself in similar situations but what I decided to do is to use an existing language (in my case it was JavaScript but nothing to do with the Javascript you run on node or on the web)

whether this is a good or a bad converter API for youtube I think this is an unfair usage of github. I was interested in seeing the source code for such a product (github is a development platform). Instead your github project is just a page to describe a product hosted somewhere else. Not good.

Well, I ended up accepting that either it did not exist or if it existed it was impossible to find (which is the same thing from my angle).

So again hope people find you once the hackernews show traffic fades away...

Very lucid comment. I would just object to your harsh "it's irrational and probably stupid..." final remark. It's not irrational and stupid. Building something allows you to sharpen your skills, validate your abilities, engage you to the problem you want to solve for real. cheers

Good effort. And I like the minimal documentation. However, and I would love to be proved wrong, I think you are about 20 years late for this project to get any interest aside from some effimerous moments in hackernews...
