100%. A lot of these things were set in motion under Ballmer and he tee'd it up for Satya. That doesn't excuse Ballmer's missteps and of course Satya deserves credit for a lot of the execution, but I think people like to latch on to the simple narrative of Satya Good, Ballmer Bad.

Doesn't Instagram use the same approach on their Stories Camera on Android? Seems more of an issue with Android Camera performance/APIs than an engineering critique.

[As a man], I have zero problems with this and am actually a little salty I spent the time to type this reply about a non-story.

Added additional context to your statement.

Why is the question you are asking is "Why are we getting upset over this?" instead of "Why do people say unnecessarily sexist jokes that aren't actually funny?"?

I still use Gchat over Hangouts because it's nice seeing my contacts list sorted by who is online, as opposed being ordered by recency of last communication.

So many of my Gchat conversations have started because of the online status. I've hit up friends that I haven't talked to in over a year and had really great, synchronous, conversations because of it.

From the article

“Amazon wants to be the first thing any consumer thinks of when they need to buy anything,” said Jim Hertel, a senior vice president at marketing technology company Inmar Inc. “Food is the largest retail category. They can’t do what they want to do without grocery and they’re definitely not going to give up.”

I'd also imagine Amazon thinks they can do much better than a 1.7% margin by leveraging all of the improvements to their approach outlined in the article.

I care more about a good story... Which is why I stopped watching Mr. Robot at the beginning of season 2. I just didn't care about the characters or story any more...Personally, if you're looking for a good story, involving technology and morality, I can't recommend West World enough.

Interesting. The same critique you have of Mr. Robot, I have of Westworld: plot lines that are irrelevant, huge loopholes, and characters that don't develop and that I don't care for.

There is no right or wrong way to vote for third parties.

Sure, I agree with you.

However, if your goal is to make third parties viable long-term in Presidential elections and not dependent on having very unfavorable candidates from the major 2 parties, I would argue that strong local and state 3rd parties are important.

If you really care about improving the viability of third parties in this country, please do that in local and state elections where it is actually possible to elect third parties.

Voting for 3rd parties in Presidential elections is fine, but really doesn't do much really and if you actually dig deep into 3rd party Presidential candidates, they're usually not great either.

I think it's more depressing that the people advocating for the rules are looking to disproportionately affect the poor and/or minorities. The goal isn't reduced voter fraud. Its to win elections.

Its also concerning given the history of discriminating against black voters in this country.

You can download every song to your device for offline playback.

As mentioned above, you simply cannot compare a smartphone operating system where one handles, emails (in the cloud anyway) some personal apps and a browser to a full desktop operating system where among many other things serious work is done as well as private and enterprise data is stored.

You definitely can, Feel free to disagree, but many would argue the comparison is fair, especially considering a smart phone has replaced a desktop or a laptop for many people. But to say in such absolute terms the comparison is not appropriate is naive.
