It has nearly nothing to do with the tech industry or counterculture and everything to do with being shit at urban planning and selling land to speculators on the cheap, so you end up with nowhere for the sprawl to go, and the land owner voting block that sabotages any attempt at building high density settlements.

Living in an apartment rather than a house is a strange definition of poverty.
How do they see TOR traffic in a TLS tunnel?
Might have something to do with how that particular website is using Cloudflare.
Is it? Why should a random third world country be allowed to trade with Russia, Iran, North Korea or China? If anything, it would make sense if there were more sanctions, not less, with how things are going.
You are likely overreacting. If you don't slap random trackers on the website, it doesn't ask you to do much at all.
Sadly the EU doesn't really communicate this very well, and doesn't care to call out outright propaganda from ad tech and surveillance businesses, but the regulation is not actually hard to be compliant with.
It literally just asks that you don't spy on people. That's it. Not spying on users? Great, you don't even have to do anything.
I would be extremely surprised to see any attempt at enforcement against a website that didn't collect PII on some technicality such as not having the right footer or a contact person.
Yeah, people obsessed with Russia, and sometimes even normal experts studying Russia tend to use Russian words that way.

The fluoride added to the drinking water in the US exposes you to many more times than using a fluoride tooth paste, so any leeching from this is likely inconsequential. There's also papers linked in the website and it appears that it's an improved version of the silver diamine fluoride treatment, which a quick search reveals is FDA approved.
It's not your customers' fault that your business model is not viable, and guilting people into turning off AdBlock is manipulative and detrimental to overall human productivity. Asking people to watch ads is simply a bad trade off, in the same way that burning trash to save on fuel is bad -- to save 1$ in fuel costs, environmental damage in the thousands is caused. To make 1$ from ads, many multiples of damage in lost productivity and bad product proliferation are caused.
Ad based businesses are as bad as door to door life insurance scammers, multi level scammers, etc.
In short, find a job that doesn't require damaging other people.
/Forgot to mention, watching ads without buying the advertised product simply decreases ad yield over time and therefore it even wastes productivity for 0 return in the long run./
Funding source is irrelevant.
Do you have the Apple silicon version? The brew package is messed up somehow IIRC a the up to date version for Apple silicon doesn't have the graphical shortcuts (I don't remember what brew calls these), but the one that does is for the Intel CPUs.
VLC doesn't play everything though. mpv plays stuff that VLC can't play. I never have to worry about codecs or installing anything.
Doesn't it already keep the audio in sync by default? What's the difference with this option?
If your distro has outdated packages, that's a problem with your distro.
You can always just open files with a CLI if you want to see the error messages.
What do you mean can't drag and drop on a window? That's literally how you add subtitles or open a file if you opened mpv from the shortcut, rather than by opening a file.
You can play it with mpv, it depends on the hardware/drivers. It worked fine on a random Ryzen Lenovo laptop with Linux even though MacOS version of mpv couldn't play it correctly on M2 (even though Apple claims that M2 is compatible with the format).
Can't blame people for not using shelters if you make them feel like a prison.
Would you use a shelter where you can't control light switches, get woken up by a siren, get your stuff stolen, probably have to share showers and kitchen with junkies, if you are even allowed to cook your own food?
Both of those things are in fact tractable, and many other countries manage to keep track of who's supposed to be in them just fine. It's telling that you think something that should be a non issue is a thought stopping meme.
Are you gonna give everyone a national ID and wall up the border first? Or just let everyone come and get the free money?
They do vote for free roads instead of rail infrastructure even though the economics are worse. Especially for cargo traffic.
Why do you think dogs deserve no kill shelters? Euthanizing stray dogs and other critters in urban areas is quite common throughout the world and most definitely a superior choice if you have a limited budget and would need to cut services for humans instead.
Most American housing is 2x4 garden sheds where if you stomp a bit harder the floorboards are gonna dislodge and you'll literally see the mud beneath your house. Also, most people in California can't afford to buy a house, let alone something up to current building codes (which are ridiculously lenient compared to Europe). So yeah, "nice" probably just means something that wasn't built in 1970. Imagine they said "liveable" if it works better for you.
Working on your own projects is also work. There's no reason why the term work should refer exclusively to working for an employer.
The nuclear winter thing is based on the paper where they assume that there's zero days of stockpiled grain isn't it? When in reality we could go for years with just the grain farmers keep to balance out market volatility.
Pointless distinction, you'll never see their code or weights if you just get a response from the API, so the license doesn't matter.
So Orange County is going to have more emotionally and socially developed youth compared to LA, in a measurable way? I don't think so.
People's preferences are the root, not the mechanism used to satisfy them.
I don't think kids need to worry about mortgage rates.
On MacOS and probably on iPhone as well you can right click text in images and easily search for it.
So Apple users do the obvious low effort thing and just post images instead of text. This is toxic in a similar way to using iMessage instead of something like Whatsapp for group chats.
It makes more people buy Apple so the stock goes up though.
