It’s better in many cases than manually setting a breakpoint in the inspector.
Why does the author believe that statement is true? I'd much rather manually set breakpoints in the inspector than have to alter code.

Did you read the article?

"Security researchers at Rapid7, a security company, analyzed the dumped account information and found that it included account information not just for Yahoo users but for Gmail, AOL, Hotmail, Comcast, MSN, SBC Global, Verizon, BellSouth and Live.com users. Marcus Carey, a researcher at Rapid7, found that among the data were some 106,000 Gmail accounts, 55,000 Hotmail accounts and 25,000 AOL accounts."

A couple of comments.

One side effect of your post (for me) is now I am following your RSS feed. So there might also be a long term effect of having more people follow your blog.

The cross section of Proggit and Hackernews has overlap. If more people are reading Proggit first, then Hnews then they probably won't click through again. So maybe more people read Proggit before Hnews?

Also, what happens when you normalize the traffic by the size of the Hnews and Proggit "populations"?
