I would sue the company. most definitely. There's no need to make a scene publicly, but if you were let go without much warning, you would be able to win. CA protects workers and a good lawyer would be able to find a good cause for this.

I would avoid off shore developers at all costs. It'll be more costly for your business if you didn't pick the right ones, or not managing them correctly.

Even if you did pick the right developers, you will have to spend time to teach them about design. Design is completely off when it's done offsite.

I never attempted to write about my company. I submitted a request to have my company created as an entry. You need to have your company name created first before anyone can write about you.

Wikipedia is an interesting place. I am not sure what classifies articles for deletion, but it feels like only people who live in the Internet industry take part in actively running and editing the articles. I don't think of it as a male dominant community (even though I am female), but it feels like to me that only for people who are only care about stuff they know. It feels more like a closed minded community than having a woman problem.

My previous company was a chip and Wi-Fi module startup (ZeroG Wireless). I had requested our company name to be created around 2009. At that point, we had been around for 4 years and we had taken $30m in funding. However, we were never granted a section on Wikipedia.

On the other hand, plenty of internet companies who were around than launch much shorter than that and their names are currently on Wikipedia, for example, Pownce. I am sure that many others are granted a Wikipedia entry for being around less, accomplishing less than what we did. The only difference is that these were Internet startups and ZeroG was not.

Some people simply need to wake up and stop living in their own bubble. Let's hope that one day they can realize that others do care about things that the community doesn't care.

There are no wrong questions asked at a conference. Everyone is there to learn. I stopped reading the rest of the blog because I found the first bullet point annoying: "Only ask a question relevant to 2/3 of the audience." People can ask what they want. Who are you to say that their asking a specialized question is their way of "showing off"? Get over yourself!

No founder is so cheap as to have their time to be rented from. Besides, if I want to connect with some of the founders, all I have to do is send them an email.

Nvidia Doesn't have a choice no matter how unhappy they are with tsmc. TSMC is the biggest fab that every fabless manufacturer uses. Every single fabless semi has no choice but TSMC. If tsmc can't deliver on the 22nm technology, no other fab will be able to. The 22nm is extremely difficult most skus fail. Hence intel wins.

I wish my ex would talk to you. I think most issues that couples have is really on communication, and a lot of time we misunderstand each other. We fail to look at our partner from his/her perspective. I broke up with my ex because he failed to see my point of view and lacked generosity on understanding how I feel. I find that most guys in tech fail to express feelings and emotions when they're in relationships and fail to see things from their partners' point of view. What girl would want to date someone who's only into himself?

I think someone like you would help guys become more self-aware on what their actions have on their partners, and help them be more considerate. This is not about becoming someone you're not, but being more open and considerate about what their girlfriends when in relationship. Trust me, women don't need that much time, but how you can communicate that to us matters more.

hardware design is not like software design because plenty of companies are already sell hardware building blocks that can be tweaked with software to develop an application. Very rarely you have to redesign hardware from scratch. These companies provide their customers (which include hobbyists/small design firms) with schematics. Their customers may tweak the schematics rather than designing everything from scratch, so collaboration may not be the highest pain point here.

You should check out the background of those 3 co-founders. They are all AI guys, and they are not likely to want to solve simple problems.

what katango is undertaking is an extremely complex task. they're using machine learning and AI. what you are saying is just classifying people based on heuristics, not AI and this is not what katango is doing. Basically think of AI as putting a bunch of characteristics of each person in a 2 dimensional matrix and optimizing their characteristics based on AI algorithms.

I bet the reason why google bought them is to apply their work to google+ and to compete with Facebook, which is where FB is lacking.

corporations care about ideas being stolen because hundreds of millions are at stake. When you are a startup you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. that includes telling everyone about what you are doing.

i never keep track of my ideas. i only have a few that really stand out and those i never forget. if your ideas don't come back to you over and over again, then those aren't good ideas. also, i try to be proactive about finding out whether they're good ideas by talking to people - anyone - old bosses, old friends, new friends, guys who hit on me at coffee shop, etc.

Why do ideas have to be private? if you have an idea, you can be sure that you are probably not the only one who came up with them, so feel free to discuss openly.

there's nothing worse than being paranoid about keeping your ideas to yourself.

Sure, Groupon is successful, but is it sustainable? To me, it's not a good business model because it could be easily copied, easily replaceable, and anyone could do it. Short-term success doesn't translate into a sustainable business model.

jemka, my point is that Dairy Queen has more real technology than Groupon. Their icecream is their product. Groupon has none. Groupon has coupons as a product and that's not a technology. Icecream is!!

Dairy Queen has physical locations, serving that specific location and market. It takes time for the company to do research on specific market segment and why there needs to be a physical location there. It also takes time to build, train, and hire employees in order to service that market.

Groupon: user is only sustainable based on type of deals. business model easily replaceable by any upcoming player.

plus there's so many things going inside the company right now...Groupon's own sales team is suing the company? come on, what does that speak to the company itself? the whole company is made up of salespeople!!
