You are in my mind and in my heart. This is a constant thought that I have. I grew up in a house where books, vinyls, cds, slides, tapes and other media were everywhere. Some on display, others archived in boxes. Large part of my childhood was spent with me exploring through that stuff and creating custom mixtapes with songs that I really liked. I still have a lot of them.

I also remember my 10 yo self, designing in Corel draw my own labels and printing them to fit the tape case.

I always ask my self "what is my kid going to explore? My Spotify account?" It's one of the reasons I still collect vinyls and books. Even if I don't really listen or read them from the physical format.

All web protocols and traffic through one company! Hm, how this could go wrong?

Is it possible for any tech to become mainstream without monetization being the fuel? Especially social media

Software development demands a very deep understanding of a company's business model and effective communication between a lot of people to get the final result right. Not only in terms of coding, but also in terms of strategy and architecture. AI can definitely help for quick prototyping, solution comparison, boring maintenance and stuff like that.

But how can AI help build something that not a single person has the answer to what that is?

Ironically this did happen but it was a coincidence. They banned us one day later. They did not mention in their tickets anything related to that.

That's exactly what I do in pools. On my case though I haven't read the TOS. And I would really appreciate a warning. Also, as I have already said, it's not clear when and how you are considered an image proxy. There is no way to know or monitor it. Do you consider any website with images breaking the TOS, or because we have a separate subdomain with images makes this a problem.

We are a really small business. We have a headless CMS. We just use media for Content purposes. Nothing out of the ordinary.

I am not saying I am right. I did break the TOS. They have the right to do what they did. It's just not nice and I don't like them anymore :)

I like that. Something similar that I am thinking is that I don't really listen to genres. I listen to artists. I listen to a song and the start to explore the artist's world.

Here are some of my current material:

- I have a great time listening to "Software Unscripted" podcast.

- On youtube the channel "code opinion". Although I don't like or use DDD and C#, I think that it has high quality and rewarding content.

- I am currently finishing "A Philosophy of Software Design" by John Ousterhout.

- Regarding articles, I read stuff related to my day's obsession or problem. I can't point you out to one. I mean, what do you need to evaluate/learn?

Also, I agree with you about over-complicating with all those patterns. But before I am able to dismiss a solution, I have to understand it. Trying to keep it simple is hard

Apart from those best seller books, the are great podcasts and articles that people discuss their experiences in depth. It helps me a lot, to compose a more holistic thinking.

Technical debt does not increase only for technological reasons but also from business expectations. You can't just "build" a new garden and leave it be. You have to maintain it also. Keeping the system clean and well oiled before building more is important. But these concepts need to be reminded everyday to survive

- Always on a state of mind of redesigning and simplifying everything

- Spending a lot of time trying to figure out the business better

- Studying a lot of books, articles, codebases and discussions on software architecture

- Inspire the team and younger devs to avoid complex tools and solutions and stick to the basics

- Balancing everyday and urgent business needs while leading towards a more simple, boring and maintainable system.

- Trying to persuade people to avoid technical debt at all costs

The past 15 years I had 4 different Dell laptops. Linux was always compatible. I had zero problems.

My current one is a Latitude and I have it since 2018. Still works great.

A long time ago, one of them had a problem with the monitor. They came to my office and fixed it on the spot!

Maybe your self is protesting for some reason. What does finishing this particular project means to you? Maybe you should take a small break and create a mental distance. Try to forget your ideas about software and business and listen to your personal specific needs
