This is the best way. Inline duct fan and a flex hose running out of your window (you can print an adapter/connector to fit perfectly). It works very well even if your enclosure is not airtight (and it shouldn't be when printing PLA since you want a constant stream of air getting inside for cooling) - just let negative pressure do its thing.

This is fantastic, thank you for your work! I'm excited to see this project combine a clean API in a popular language, with a fast online playground that requires no installation. Having played with OpenSCAD and CadQuery in the past, this feels like a big step forward.

Some suggestions (I'm sure you've already thought of most of these):

- It would be great to have notebook-like UI to isolate steps and allow faster partial rebuilds.

- live editing is great, but it'd be nice to automatically stop in-progress rebuild if another edit is made while it's computing. Right now it seems to always let a rebuild complete even if it's already out-of-date.

- Search on API/docs page would be really handy

- Face/vertex filtering API looks cleaner than CadQuery's, and I'm excited to try it out. In a lot of cases I would still really like to just be able to click on the model and get a reference in code. Even if it's just an index that would break if topology has changed. Auto-generating stable references/filters would be even better, when possible.

I love RP2040 (especially how circuit designer and firmware dev friendly it is) and even tried building my own MCU with it[1]

However I don't quite see the Bluetooth use case - RP2040 is not really a low power chip, making it pretty hard to use for a battery-powered IoT application. You'd need a pretty giant battery pack to make it last a long time.

Nordic's nrf52 is an order of magnitude better for a typical "sleep-burst transmit-sleep" cycle, and can be suspended to <5uA current. Pico W is $6, Seeed has a $10 nrf52 MCU, or you could get a "just hook up USB and power" bare module for $5-6.

Connection start: 90ms (60ms of which is SSL handshake) Request/Response: 30ms request / 30ms response

So the whole post is about yak shaving not splitting the 30ms response portion of a request that already takes 5x that (150+ms).

Sure it's a bit faster, but your users will not notice the difference between a 14kb page and a 15kb page over https (which you hopefully have on).

For sure, nothing is 100% secure (and even with multiple U-locks an angle grinder will win out after a while). I've had a good experience with hexlox so far - they are super hard to remove without a key. Haven't had any theft issues in multiple years of parking around San Francisco.

While the overall point of simple racks being better definitely stands, the premise that a bike needs two locks is just silly and impractical. Get wheel locks for your bikes - pinhead, hexlox (my favorite), etc. If your wheels are secured to the frame you just need to lock the frame with one lock/chain.

Takes way less time to park and you dont need to lug multiple 5lb locks (unfortunately thats how heavy secure locks actually are).

Given that most old Android phones stop receiving security updates after only a couple years from purchase, you should probably not do anything that involves connecting them to your local network.

The nice thing about the current version is that it's just a straight-up HDMI peripheral so you don't have to worry about any security issues (Dasung's software is not exactly confidence inspiring, and I definitely would not touch any Android device shipped by them). USB-C would make it a lot more convenient for quickly plugging in though.

Thanks for linking to the report, it's interesting reading.

I think it largely confirms the point of my post though - we need independent certification labs in the US to make imported PPE usable. It is unclear what % of reported quality failures in that report were due to counterfeits. Now that the manufacturers have authenticity codes on their product we can hold manufacturers directly accountable for filtering performance.

The US does not even need to ramp up PPE production. Mask availability is good outside of the US, but you don't know if you are importing a fake one, unfortunately. This is solvable.

What's needed is additional certification labs and US-based quality control for imported N95/KN95 masks. It is very cheap to set up a new lab - all you need to test a mask is a ~$1000 sub-micron particle counter. Just keep buying samples of masks from various manufacturers and make sure they are not slipping on quality.

3M and Powecom now offer one-time-use authenticity code for masks they ship (see https://safeguard.3m.com) and other manufacturers will likely follow soon. This means that you don't have to worry about the middlemen doing importing and distribution swapping the product for counterfeit - all you need is a quality reputation score for manufacturers themselves, making the problem much easier.

This is of course should've all been done by the CDC and US Customs already but they are dropping the ball and doing only a limited amount testing. Maybe universities can step up and use their labs for testing?

There is machine translation built in for words or sentences that you might need help with. We'll even automatically create flashcards for you for words you look up, to help you review with spaced repetition later.

When we say "browse any website" we mean that Flowlingo can be used as a general purpose browser - you can navigate to any website in Spanish and use the same learning tools to practice!

As pointed out by folks on Gizmodo, the areas of the rectangles seem to have nothing to do with the number of servers listed inside (for example Intel's square is almost 4x the size of Rackspace, even though the server count is less than 2x).

Also, the numbers for Facebook are quite outdated.
