Nike should buy Brooks and to jumpstart their product dev and push their cushioning and stability tech into the Nike shoe line, then build a branding campaign around that, and also go after some new athletes.

Damn this is a bleak view of the world.

Yes, I have a right to have an opinion on how other people’s behaviors make me feel,

how others act is outside your control. how you interpret and 'feel' is within your control, and quite empowering when you take the reins.

and so long as I’m still functional at work it’s not a problem

But what about when you retire and carry this this forward, likely alone.

Sounds like you have 'good' problems. Good luck to you.

Companies like Dominion Energy, Duke Energy, and Consolidated Edison are regulated by state utility commissions, same as in California.

Same reason the governor appointed public utility commission has allowed PG&E to raise rates 4 times in a single year without legitimate oversight. Yea unfortunately all roads point to his donors with this smooth talker, cost of living be damned.

I will say on the positive side ... Starlink/SpaceX is a huge asset. And the Tesla Energy Megapack has a huge forward market opportunity (utility grids are just getting started with battery energy storage for smoothing out renewables). And the Tesla charging products are the gold standard.

Your argument is no content moderation by social platforms. Your point is if it's hard, don't do it. Courts and legal interpretations exist for this reason, to parse the grey areas, and in this case they are ruling against Twitter's lack of content moderation.

Free speech doesn't equate to the freedom to spread misinformation, supporting and then organizing an attempted a military coup in Brazil.

You are overstating enforcement of corporate laws vs. a government censoring an entire nation. Similarly banning X in the US would not be censorship if the company flouted and refused to obey US laws.

He is spending many people's money, not just his own. He's human, he can be both a tech legend and a polarizing, drama-magnet of a human being, I just lament him leaning into the latter when the benefit is winning a pissing match.

I just wish this guy would take the loss and sell twitter and go back to being an uncontroversial tech legend. Mixing with Social media has corrupted every positive thing he has done and maybe will do if he keeps it up at the current pace. People tire of the drama king. If you don't know what I mean.. he said his transgender child is dead to him in a publicly aired interview. That's where this guy is in his personal relationships.

Also The post-Covid interest rate hikes. Which is why prices went up from 2021-2023. The author attributes this only to supply chain: developers had PPAs signed in 2019-2021 that assumed lower borrowing & construction costs, then interest rates went up sharply, and all those PPAs had to be either renegotiated or the underlying project was never built.

Crowdstrike stock dropped 5% or so on news of Delta hiring outside counsel to pursue damages.

If this is truly CrowdStrikes own fault, aren't there countless other global airlines that had major losses during the outage and will pile on to the damage claims?

The question that goes unanswered (and will turn people away) if you want to use this site is: how and what data is being used to inform the overlap algo.

I signed up and it feels like my data was just collected, and I'm unsure if it's just the user responses or ingestion of my linkedin text that will be used.

Overall leaves me with a negative experience ... Maybe an email confirmation saying something might be good reassurance.

I worked at an EV charger manufacturer. This is a known issue. The issue is a 240V plug value engineered for non-continuous use for things like cooking and laundry loads (where amperage spikes but levels off at fairly low amps) versus a continuous 7-10 hour load like an EV/EVSE (where you have high amps continuously and lots of resulting heat transfer).

It's limited to home EV charging. This is one reason why given the choice between a NEMA plug source or a hard wired source (to circuit in Junction box), I would choose the wired source/circuit connection.

The plug manufacturers also know about the melted NEMA connector issue and are designing versions for continuous use at the higher price points mentioned.

It seems they looked at the market, saw their 6% return on SC's and saw a lot of competition that would be drive down that low margin and be installing their NACS ports going forward anyway. If they can back away to to let 3rd party developers/funds build the low margin stuff, it could be a wise use of capital.

However, this is the ChargePoint model having 3rd parties buy/build/own/operate the stations and although Tesla's DC/AC charger builds are better, they will be confronted with the same issues ChargePoint has where station uptime is much lower due under 3rd party ownership because Tesla does not directly own and monitor the stations and it's up to the owner to maintain. The owners are more lax and the ports experience more downtime, disrepair. Literally the opposite of increasing SC uptime that was Elon's justification tweet on this team layoff. Maybe they can find a solution to the problem (only selling to large orgs/projects like they do with Megapack) but the likely outcome is the network will grow slower with outside capital but the quality/uptime is lower than before. And non Tesla SC stations/networks will be integrated into the Tesla dash like everyone other OEM does.

I can't find a link so I'll explain it...

Single high voltage transformers approach the 6-8% at full load... Not to mention the wire losses and other transformers in the system minimum 3-5). The number you quoted from the EIA is not accurate. See this Nameplate Z% (impedance aka losses) of an ABB 20MVA transformer: https://images.app.goo.gl/hXNTWAv1xnu83znQ7 It is higher as the transformers get larger.

Correction tho... 30-40% includes the losses from generation, not just T&D. And if you keep searching the EIA quoted that at 34%.

Yea that's true ... Based on new reporting the firing was over nonsensical reasons... for dismissing a CEO who oversaw $90B in value creation. -----" One explanation was that Altman was said to have given two people at OpenAI the same project.

The other was that Altman allegedly gave two board members different opinions about a member of personnel."

The OpenAI board seems to have fatally miscalculated the loyalty to Sam A. And in realizing their error is scrambling to undo their miscalculation. The sad thing is probably was for the right reasons (AI safety over profits), and will result in the precise opposite (unbridled capitalism in AI).
