I don't know if iHiD will see this, but this is Lane, the founder of Boot.dev. One of our students shared this article with me, and it really sucks to see. Exercism has always been a go to recommendation of mine for students who need additional practice or to learn languages we don't yet teach.

I know you mentioned you don't wanna do ads, which makes sense. But if you're getting 1200 sign ups a day thats worth a lot, and id be happy to chat and see if there's a sponsor opportunity thats uninvasive and that could at least keep you going.

anyhow, you can reach me on Twitter @wagslane or via email: lane @ boot dev.

either way, hope things turn around

I found it clever and I welcome it. The history surrounding slavery isn't a taboo subject, what a ridiculous idea. The commenter in no way is condoning slavery.

This is potentially exactly what I'm looking for to take Boot.dev to the next level. I'm a bit worried that it's too JS focused, but if I can hack in the other stuff I need with wasm then this gets really exciting. thanks for posting :)

Connect is Stripes product that allows you to build marketplaces. I believe this would be how you would pay out your users. e.g. if PayPal used stripe to back their app.

As the creator of Boot.dev, I have every reason to dogpile on these articles bashing boot camps. Don't get me wrong - there are plenty of shitty boot camps out there, and I think online platforms are, if not a better alternative, at least a better starting point for many people.

That said, there are some good boot camps out there that are doing good work. We do need a better way to protect uninformed consumers from getting scammed though - not sure what that looks like yet.

Go 1.19 Released 4 years ago

I feel super productive in Go. The strong typing and static compilation just make everything simple and easy

huh, I didn't post this here, but I'm the author and kinda fun to just see it show up. Thanks for the feedback, it's a good point. I'll be making those updates soon.
