I got my call, was inquired about my projects and current offers by HR and then got a rejection letter next week. After I inquired, it turned out that my low GPA [ 7.03/10.0 ] was the cause. They want academically bright freshers with shining GPAs and with strong CS101 skills.

Mine is 2009 model and I have yet to face this issue. Although my Optical drive died this January and it throws out DVDs when inserted but that is the only problem I have faced so far.

Just yesterday I was unable to access twitter from my university. It blocked me by saying something like 'API calls exceeded'. A university have generally a single IP address and thousand of users. What will twitter do about this ?

True, but my current phone N900 is weaker in terms of a phone. It is a hacker's delight with a real terminal, apt-get etc but the phone experience I never really enjoyed much. My earlier phone N95 was better than this.

I highly value "Programming Pearls" by Jon Bentley in this regard. He proposes a problem and then solves it in naive way followed by the right way/ways. I realized the importance of choosing correct data structure for a particular problem from that book.

Not counting 7 years of GWBASIC on MSDOS, my first experience was with LOGO in class II. REPEAT 360 [FD 1 RT 1] for making a circle, nostalgic. :)

Hg is written in Python. As for why Mercurial was chosen over Bazaar, it came down to popularity. As the core developer survey shows, hg was preferred over bzr.

You can always bring codes in the form of printouts. And these libraries are mainly for practice problems on ACM UVA Online Judge.

These are standard data structures and algorithms coded in C++. Pretty useful for programming competitions.

But what problem should twitter be having ? If public dislike the ads they won't use it probably. If they are doing so, they are probably OK with it. There are lots of ads-free client out there.

Gotham was created for batman IMHO and not vice-versa. If someday batman dies, spiderman won't come from New York for load balancing. Why is that almost all the super-heroes have their arch-enemy in their nearby locality. They also share the same trait. For example spiderman villains are mostly mutants and nagraj villains are mostly snake which takes humanoid form.

And since when does writing "Hello World" in C teaches you how to use pointer and how to deal with it.
