I used to have a TextExpander shortcut that allowed me to copy any URL, type the shortcut, and a bit.ly link would pop out. I used it all the time. Then their API changed, it broke, and I never got the script working again.
Years later, we have Claude.
I wanted that feature back tonight, so I built it in less than an hour. This one works great with TextExpander and iOS Shortcuts (aka any Share sheet).
Thanks Claude!
Why would anti-fascists jam EMS frequencies?
For the record, brains are also not free of hallucinations.
I made this switch years ago and love it. I also strongly recommend Marvis Pro, a fantastic app for navigating your Apple Music collection on iOS.
The US is pretty clearly an imperialist aggressor? Latin America is littered with the bodies of those who didn't conform to US economic dictates.
Maybe you should get more invites
VC for now, offer ticketing with a fee later.
Literally they just need to add ticketing with a small fee. They are sitting on a huge revenue stream they just haven't need to roll out yet.
They'll say it's for national defense against other countries, but it's only a matter of time before these weapons and surveillance tools will be deployed on American citizens. Foucault's boomerang.
Def agree that consensual non-monogamy (CNM) != polyamory, and there's a loottt of confusion out there around that distinction (and in this article and this HN thread, too).
I might be poly for the right people at the right time, but I'm not currently. However, I'm definitely CNM for life because all I want is to talk it out!
Well, that, and occasionally hook up with other people
Doesn't really matter what they call it - that's non-monogamy (edit: or cheating)
Good thing you figured out that non-monogamy simply doesn't work. Must feel good to finally get to the bottom of that! I'll make sure to inform the millions of Americans currently practicing it that you figured it out - simple arithmetic!
Indeed a wild generalization, but I can agree from many anecdotes that monogamous couples "going poly" is super super hard - much easier to start a relationship in a poly dynamic than attempt to transform one.
I use Fastmail which has CardDAV syncing, and generally it's worked great. One or twice I've noticed it stops syncing and I have to remove + re-add the sync profile, but generally speaking I've been pretty happy with the results.
This is cool. What do you mean by "defense?"
I might suggest reading the text in question. Orwell's "Homage to Catalonia" will give a much more three dimensional view of "anarchism" than what we tend imagine from first principles. Even just the first few chapters are well worth the read: https://files.libcom.org/files/Homage%20to%20Catalonia%20-%2...
Soooo you just don't think that phones (with social media apps) are addictive and harmful for kids? The research on this is pretty clear.
Legislation is absolutely happening! Check it: https://www.compactmag.com/article/ending-big-techs-child-ex...
For anyone who wants much more detailed coverage of these cases, and are willing to pay for it, I can't recommend Matt Stoller's Substack enough. Here's an older article, but he regularly covers developments in all the anti trust cases: https://open.substack.com/pub/mattstoller/p/monopoly-round-u...
Israeli intel literally had the battle plans a year ahead of time, they were just too boneheaded (racist) to take it seriously.
No. The decision of any individual consumer will always be millions of times less impactful than the decisions of the leaders in these organizations. They should be held to account - not the individual buying what they need to get through life.
All I want is an analog watch that shades the face of the watch when I have calendar events coming up. That's it. No screen, no pings, no nothing. Just the ability to check my watch and see how long till my next appointment. Unfortunately, [this kickstarter watch](https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1540240985/calendar-wat...) is now dead.
This is such a toxic response. You're commenting on someone's blog about how they are sad. Your response is to argue that they're wrong which means that their sadness is invalid.
FTFY: "Everything advertised is overpriced"
When you buy a product that's been advertised, you also have to pay for the ad that was served to you. Ban ads!
I guess one implication of this will be the continuing rapid decrease in cost of software development. Everyone who previously could barely scrape together a functional app will now be able to launch advanced, beautiful, feature-rich apps. Quality of products could improve vastly (quantity will improve vastly).
Lina Khan is running a new FTC and she's incredible
Sure, but the point is that you have to fight now. Personally, I think a union would be a GREAT move, and I'm surprised he didn't stress that more.
lol there's a piping hot take
