Even if you never watched TV your whole life, you still can't escape the consequences of other people watching TV.
That's the thing to keep in mind, it's not something an individual can "fix".
That's why policies and laws are so important.

I've read "amusing ourselves to death" and there the author also criticises the idea that new technologies are "just tools".
The invention of the telegraph changed how information is traded and the contents of newspapers, the invention of the TV changed politics, and so on.
The medium shapes the message and induces behaviours from us. We never thought about wanting to promt chatgpt, or watch people doing sports on a screen. But the possibility of doing these things makes us change.
LLMs obviously have and will continue shaping the world, and I am also afraid that it will create a worse future than the one that we had until now.
I think deployment should slow down and research should be financed and diversified.
Fresh people meaning burned out from the previous job?
You can only say that because you know nothing about the Chinese ones
And my og comment getting downvoted on this very intellectual forum that definitely isn't an echo chamber
What? Big tech company is evil? No way! I thought cloudflare were good guys...
I've always been confident in the ability of the US institutions to correct the mistakes being made, great to see an end to this ridiculous DOGE situation.
Visiting without JS: "With JavaScript off, the page cannot tell you what your browser disclosed. The data is still there. The disclosure still happened. Only the telling of it stops."
I find this hyper dramatic LLM language extremely off putting, but appreciate the signal that allows me to completely disregard it.
This has amazing trolling potential
It's all just a sado maso power game.
I say that we should fully support all AI initiatives and stop giving advice. Tell them AI will make them rich and that they won't have to care about anybody, and just wait to see what happens.
Made by grifters, for grifters
I haven't used transcription, but in a similar way, I think DeepL translation got worse. Now it always makes the translation more formal, "professional", and gives everything the "LLM voice".
That was a really weird sentence that makes no sense, since when is an on demand "elite researcher" nothing? While the article appears to dismiss this model, it ends up giving it a very high praise.
I've been using colored borders as design for ages... Hate seeing it becoming an "AI tell" :(
Because of laziness
Haven't read the page, but working with agents is like playing a visual novel game, but with random delays and slowdowns added. You just, wait, consume and do a choice. It's a passive activity. It also has gambling elements, because what happens next is random, and nobody really knows what the result will be, this often makes people spend way more time then planned/expected with agents when things don't work immediately magically.
According to the test, I'm completely normal, are you perhaps the autistic one? Or is the test bullshit?
It's obvious Claude slop, a stupid meme for people who want to think they are special
AI slop, absolutely meaningless, don't take it seriously.
Btw I tested neither, 30% each; "the controll group". So I am formally authorized to criticise the page as a perfectly normal person.
All linux distros build VLC from source
I looked up what the numbers mean a couple of times, but always forget it immediately
Saying that code quality doesn't matter is simply false, if people enjoyed Claude code so much, anthropic wouldn't have to block direct API access to users.
Their "product market fit" is the LLM model itself, not the harness. The harness is completely replaceable in my opinion, it's just that Claude is the cheapest way to access the models.
And don't manufactures release different versions under the same brand name? How big can the difference be between authentic drives?
Tried to convert to docx, got failed to import js module error.
In my experience, it's definitely faster to do manually if it's something that you know well. What LLMs enable is to skip research and learning by producing usable code immediately.
You are not allowed to not be happy in this amazing new world.
That made me laugh a bit as well. Definitely want to see some rigorous testing on that, I'd expect that on longer calls tha caller can make the ai say basically anything.
Not just when running out of context, it's always. Once it fixates on a goal, all hell breaks loose and there's nothing that it won't be sacrificed to get there. At least that's my experience with Claude Code, I am pressing the figurative breaks all the time.
I think that generative AI has many more downsides than upsides. It is and will continue to be a net negative for society, unless we have the collective discipline to manage the dangers.
