More relevant is that 14 out of 64 samples had levels above the legally allowed limit (MRL), of which 12 pesticides that are not approved in the EU (page 12 of report). This is more severe than products 'containing' pesticides, which could as well be advancements in measurement.

Problematic products are: Peppers, dried (6x), Cumin (3x), Rice grain (2x), Tea leaves and stalks (1x), Non-fermented tea leaves (1x), Mix of spices (1x).

While I agree it’s a good resource, please note there’s quite a few controversies[1] with the site, e.g. “The excessive monetization model of user-generated content has been criticized by several newspaper outlets, such as the British newspaper The Guardian”

The data [0] begs to differ: in richer countries workers and fewer hours. The gap not shown here is working hours per capita (instead of worker), but I couldn’t find that data quickly.

Also, even if your claim were true, I wonder if joining the rate race of working harder is worth it.

Building on that, instead of viewing retirement (age) from a cost perspective (i.e. we have x budget and y lifespan, hence retirement age is z), it would be refreshing to see a high-quality and long retirement as starting point, and then figure out how to organize for that. One way would be to reduce burden on services indeed. A low retirement age (for those who want it) is a sign of a wealthy nation and something to strive for.

I noticed I couldn't reach my home servers which use split dns resolution, and it turns out that's because iOS 17 routes DNS queries via Apple DNS servers when using 'Advanced Tracking and Fingerprinting Protection'.

Good to know

* when setting up home networks or

* you want to use DNS for content filtering or

* you prefer your DNS queries to stay private

I have the same problem on my 2015 Macbook Pro, I can do all usual work I want, but website are getting slower and slower burdened by heaps of JavaScript, autoplaying video and what not. Sometimes I even have input lag when typing in a search bar(!). The Ikea website is a good example of bloated website.

Adblock only helps a bit, and most websites don't work without javascript.

I’m a big fan of PiGallery2 myself [1]. Very simple and fast, meant for running on a Raspberry Pi (hence the name).

I remember photoprism having some subscription requirement for certain features.

I’m using the first one as personal album and it works very well, including things like infinite scroll and link-based album sharing.

The latter is more sophisticated and has a native accompanying app but I found pigallery easier to work with.
