I've been thinking along the same lines and have already drawn up some concepts for what I think would be a killer non-profit substitute for facebook. I have also founded a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit, so I have some expertise when it comes to running a non-profit. Shoot me an email if you'd like to explore the idea further. kris [at] oowom [dot] com

I'd like to be able to control exactly who sees my questions and answers. If I'm at a place that I think is awesome, it might be because everyone else in town isn't there in which case I'll have incentive to misinform any/all strangers. For what it's worth I recently released something like Localmind for surfers, so I look at it from that perspective. When the waves are good, we only want to tell a few specific individuals with whom we'd like to share the experience.

Did you have the same intention by including the link to the non-existing 'global activity' in the top nav? My guess is that everyone will click that one if for no reason other than the fact that this is a new toy - we're going to click everything.

In general I think you've got a great idea with this product. Solid alpha/beta. Keep up the good work!

Imagine having your own personal R2D2 that lives on your phone and helps you make life’s little decisions, like picking a restaurant, selecting a wine, deciding when/where to surf, where to find fun nightlife, etc. You trust it to always be looking out for your best interests. That’s basically what we’re building. We've been developing our technology and user experience for over three years and the response from our initial beta release has been overwhelmingly positive. Everybody loves what we've built and they want more.
