Pretty much, yes. It has an API as well. You have to accept the root certificate of the authority you create in the browser and then you don't have do accept all self-signed certificates based on it. It's aiming to ease development, it's not to be used in production.

Yup! I don't use Twitter, because I'm tired of abbreviating. I've heard all the made-up motives from people both inside and outside of the company but for many years already nobody has been using Twitter via SMS! Also, for years, phones have been splitting long messages into multiple short ones if necessary and composing them back as well. Remove the limit and save Twitter, please!

Why do people try to boost their metabolism (or demise) these days then? I am sure that you cannot back with any credible evidence the assumption than downvoting comments makes HN a better place. You can add flagging and that will do better, but downvoting is unhealthy. The fixed -4 threshold is random and wrong as well. The loyalty to Paul Graham's original decisions is misunderstood loyalty and there are a lot of missed opportunities here, because of these repeated mistakes.

Then do the right thing and solve the problem by removing downvote on comments - you will do this community a huge favor and you will simplify the UX as well. It has no purpose outside of emotional buildups. Upvotes give you enough for sorting purposes - it's been working well for Facebook and Twitter. For everything else, there's reddit!

Like/dislike is not structured feedback. The most awkward situation is when people "like" some tragic article. In this case, Reddit and HN do better - you up/down vote, you don't "like". Instead, they should've added multiple "reactions". Like/dislike, agree/disagree, boost up/down, etc. Of course, the equivalent of "upvoting" possibly is "sharing", but often you don't want to pollute your timeline, just to boost the visibility. I think Facebook is making things worse, not better.

This is some really stupid decision! Even more stupid than adding the stickers! All that we've seen going wrong here and over at reddit with the community-destroying negative voting is coming to Facebook - let the flame wars begin! Trolls are gonna love it, too! Instead, what they had to do is copy Slack's emoji reactions - the most brilliant thing they could've done to improve feedback. Or at least copy BuzzFeed's original reaction approach for the lazy majority.

You're wrong. EV is a scam. I can afford to buy EV for most of my sites, but I don't do it. Because consumers don't really care. Even HN doesn't have an EV!
