- Is there no way to delete or edit the list I created? I accidentally typed in "Grocert" instead of "Grocery" and I can't for the life of me figure out how to delete it. I tried long pressing, swiping, etc.

- The dots at the bottom of each list make it seem like it's swipeable, since those dots commonly used on image carousels as a pagination indication. It's super misleading.

- The website made it seem like you could look up items, similar to how MyFitnessPal works. This is not the case... I'm way too lazy to manually type in all that information.

- The ads come on way to frequently.

Sorry, but combined with the ads and the lack of editing capabilities, this app is less functional than the default Notes app on my phone.

I don't think he used a tool; it looks like it was coded by hand to me. I'm a bit iffy on whether or not he is actually a "javascript expert" - global variables littered everywhere, no attempts at design patterns at all, horrendously long and confusing variable names.

Still a cool project though.

There's nothing wrong with simple and functional. But simple doesn't have to be dated and ugly, which is what his website is. Also this post made him come off as a bit of a douchebag about it.

It's ironic because all the websites he listed (with the exception of Craigslist) have incredibly complex front-ends.

I agree with this. This blog post just feels like this guy is saying "Good job! You exist!". I'd rather be praised for my effort and hard work than my gender.

Going to college made me realize that I wanted to study computer science. If I had never gone to college I may have never known that. I agree that it's totally possible to educate yourself at home, but for some people (like me) who had no idea, college is a great place to access those resources and network with people in the field.

I am a girl studying computer science. I never understood the whole geek girl mentality of "I don't get OTHER girls! They only like shopping! I like nerdy things!"

I like shopping and makeup. I also like nerdy things like Lord of the Rings and programming hackathons. I get along with girly girls AND geeks.

People are more complex than "I only like shopping" or "I only like Star Wars". It's not hard to make friends with people who have different hobbies than you - in fact it makes your social group more interesting, I find.

Why does there have to be a divide?
