I think you're missing the point. People are saying that government should make sure AI is not weaponized against the people of the world. But lets face it, US and UK governments will likely be the first to weaponized against the people.

As DeepSeek is shown us progress is hard to hinder unless you go to war and kill the people....

A lot of research NIH funds because there is low outcome of a market product at the end of that research. This is because investors won't spend the money or only fund research that has no money incentive in its outcome. The way I see is it is progress is about to stop because investors will only fund thing that can have a direct money outcome for them in the future...

Yes, as much as I love Go and love working with it every day. This inner workings of Go with zero-values has been an design issue that comes up again and again and again.

I feel like our programming tools are pretty good for programming in the small, but I suspect we're still waiting for a breakthrough for being able to actually make complex software reliably. (And, no, I don't just mean yet another "framework" or another language that's just C with a fancier type system or novel memory management)

Readability is for human optimization for self or for other people's posterity and code comprehension to the readers mind. We need a new way to visualize/comprehension code that doesn't involve heavy reading and the read's personal capabilities of syntax parsing/comprehension.

This is something we will likely never be able to get right with our current man machine interfaces; keyboard, mouse/touch, video and audio.
