I spent a few months recently creating a quotes manager for iOS. Save and look up quotes by author, rating, source and tag.

The TI-85/6 is a magical device. A widespread built-in text editor, compiler and GUI library in one.
I was very sad when I realized the BASIC performance was like an order of magnitude worse than ASM performance.
More like premature. The display was too low-res as to be useless for anything other than reading 9 or so words at once.
The four humans were even "colluding" too.
I started doing this after encountering articles that abused this with annoying looping memes; very distracting.
That's just laziness on part of the refactorer. At that point, you need to use an outer if-else statement. Ternary operators are confusing when nested.
You don't remember the crappy screens, overall build quality, user interfaces, apps (mobile java lol), performance of phones in the pre-iPhone era? All those problems went away when the iPhone set the bar in these fields.
OP needs to frame this and hang it on his wall for the next few months. This is the prescription and medicine that he needs.
mouse washing, LOL!
Any recommendations for developer jobs in Korea? Working at a Korean company and thus in their working culture (long hours, treated like a slave by higher-ups) and low developer pay is not recommended from what I hear.
It may be that that's just a common surface excuse for another underlying reason, whether related to you or not.
Laptops especially can use older versions of OS, easier than iOS
It's pretty fun finding and deleting all the HTML/JS elements in Chrome that block the article..
Nobody is forcing you to upgrade! They must make changes to make progress.

This sounds great, but it doesn't seem easy to pull off. Does it sit well with them and are they willing to pay for something like this? EDIT: wording
Use Anki to memorize that gosh-darn block syntax. It's like the lord's prayer for me, used it 1000 times yet can't recall it for the life of me.
Hey, who cares about ethics when there's billions of dollars on the table /s
Yes her project would have been much cooler than yours without resources, but at least you see and learn about more diverse and advanced knowledge than from seeing 30 crappy ant farms.
Maybe seeting this would have kicked off my interest in programming earlier and I'd be a Mark Zuckerberg now :)
He didn't make the context he was referring to very clear, which is this: "Then my sisters had a science activity where they had to present a science project and I was helping them to choose a subject."
If you start an iOS app under your own name, then decide to form an LLC after validating your idea, do your reviews and rankings get reset?
The house analogy isn't really working for me.. An almost same house gives 99% of all the important value, but a non-diamond ring isn't the same since it's still a pretty big mental and societal shift one has to deal with.
That does sound better, spending the saved money on 4x$2000 amazing trips together, or 2x$4000 SUPER trips. Priceless memories that would easily be higher value than a nice rock.
Tough crowd.
It sounds like what he is saying is that it hasn't helped his creativity though, and he's been compromising his creativity up until now..
What about the code you wrote that earned you a living and perhaps some savings? And helped you explore your talents?
Reminds me of a quote by Alfred North Whitehead:
"Man's best thinking is done either by persons living in the country or in small communities, or else by those who, having had such environment in early life, enrich their experience by life in cities; for what is wanted is contact with the elemental processes of nature during those years of youth when the mind is being formed." - Alfred North Whitehead, source 'Dialogues of Alfred North Whitehead'
Absolutely right. Bikers have flashing lights on at night because it's one of the strongest attention-grabbing effects on humans, in addition to motion. This animated GIF has elements of both.
If you were an author, you wouldn't include an automatic strobe light strip on each page of your book would you? Again, a lack of empathy for the reader is the problem here.
Seems unlikely. This could lose Google some money in the long run but doesn't seem to be a major blow against them. Plus it seems like a petty move with no real upside for Oracle as a company, as opposed to if it was a personal argument between two people for which emotional vindication could be a motive.
Oh, plus a lawyer would be risking his entire career too.
That's why I hate full-time employment. It is shocking that people haven't revolted when the majority have to devote much more than a majority of their time to work and errands, even not including time for offspring.
When I make kids (my pokémon if you will), I plan to sit'em down and ELI5 what life is like for the average adult. I will work with them develop their own income streams, based on things they are passionate about. This way, they can avoid a life of modern slavery.
