I also like to double check these kind of numbers and basically agree with your take. Although, I like to use a 28 day month and an 8-10 hour day rather than assuming smooth traffic over 24 hours. Even with all that, 1/2 a billion is well under 50 req/sec which is not a big deal for the rendering servers. All that traffic coming together on a database server might be a bottleneck though.

This is essentially what I've done. The TV has never been connected to the Internet and my Apple TV drives everything. I would still have payed 2x to support a good dumb TV project and would love to do so in the future.

Keep us updated. I'd likely pay 2x what I payed for my LG C2 for a "dumb" version. Even if just to support such a project.

This dev board is primarily focused on showcasing an FPGA which is a different animal compared to a Pi and other small computing platforms. Selling these Xilinx FPGAs for your PCB manufacturing is the thing they’re prepared to do at scale.

I call this the “thin thread” and agree that it’s best to get that in place fast and hacky. Then refine and bolster from there.

Not sure if you’ve heard but, over the last two years, some of the most polished and well-produced voices on NPR were literally coming from someone under a blanket in a closet. I’m not sure how much web3 is happening in closets but I wouldn’t bet on zero.

The question still stands though. Does each individual worker have its own bridge to JS? If so it’s just a constant race condition between them.

Agreed, somehow bots are able to jump the queue but there’s no description of how or why that’s possible. Why would the bot transaction be given higher priority than the submitted transaction?
