but they’ve come to regret the decision because the running isn’t as good and socially right-wing politics still forces itself upon every space.

Not true at all. I have lived in Nashville (10+ years), Houston, and Bay Area. There might be some area like Franklin or Belle Meade that is more conservative. But overall Nashville is like most big cities in the south which is liberal.

"Apple said it decided to sue after the company bought a number of its power adapters and charging and syncing cables "that were directly sold by Amazon.com – not a third-party seller – and determined that they were counterfeit."

I recalled multiple discussions about fake products on Amazon. I have been very careful not to order from 3rd party, but if even a product directly sold by Amazon can be fake, this is not good.

Try OCaml 8 years ago

There is a phrase from Yaron Minsky about OCaml, “make illegal states unrepresentable”, which summarize this.

It's more about programming declaratively, functional, as well as strong types which allow you to be very expressive. My experience with F# is similar, if you can get you code compiled, it almost always just works as you expect. But this doesn't mean that you can avoid writing tests though.

This is a good read about it, https://fsharpforfunandprofit.com/series/designing-with-type... by Scott Wlaschin.

Agree although I have been renting for the past 4 years as I don't feel settling down and still want to move around (e.g., working remotely). Depending on the market, owing might not be better economically (e.g., expense, flexibility to move), but it gives you peace of mind even if you don't plan to stay there forever.

Industry analysts and consumer advocates say St. David’s has a reputation for exorbitant billing and for trying to collect big payouts as an out-of-network provider.

Sounds just like St. David’s Medical Center in Austin, TX is run by crooks. I like the take-home message that "Faced with a surprise bill or a balance-billing situation, don’t rush to pay any medical bills you receive."

Because companies exist to create revenue and grow. Revenue means dividend and R&D investment, hence, people spend more to buy those shares because company values are higher. For Cryptocurrencies, you just expect someone else will pay more than you do, but there is no obvious reason why it should be that way forever.

Another thing is lease flexibility as well as multiple locations. Our company has different teams at multiple WeWork locations. We have to travel to different locations sometime, and be able to just walk 24/7 into WeWork space which mostly located in the city with good public transport is very convenient. Conference room, mail handling, coffee, beer and other things help too.

Although you might not be affected directly, it's cost of doing business that affects all consumers.

Why not Houston? It's major city, but it's still inexpensive. I know that Harvey and other storms would scare people away, but it's not as bad as it looks in the news. Houston area is huge and majority of the area are not affected much.

I agree that this is nice. I travel often with big luggages and always appreciate when drivers got out and helped loading in and out of the car. Tipping via the app makes my life easier as I don't need to worry about carrying small bills anymore. But if I have small bills, I will give them cash instead.

"Everybody – EVERYBODY, I say – wants at least the option of work from home."

I think his sentence nails it. I also prefers working at the office and interacts with fellow developers either formally (meeting) or informally (water-cooler talk), but it makes no sense to force anyone to be at the office all the time.

I'd like the flexibility of working remotely out of country or WFH during rush hours and commute whenever I want. This really affects my decision to join or leave the company.
