I can't help but feeling very envious (in a nice way) of your situation with coworkers. It seems like when you had an issue, you had someone 10 steps ahead of you willing to help out, give advice, lend a part etc.

This project seemed to go as well as my side projects, but when I run into a hiccup, I wait a month for a part on AliExpress, or wander around at Home Depot looking for something that I don't know what it is yet.

Just for comparison, I've had a couple crashes in about a year of daily use. Definitely less than IntelliJ or Chrome has crashed, but more than vim.

You likely dodged a bullet by getting rejected by FE International. I went through a couple of acquisition processes with them. Almost every person I dealt with there was dishonest and unprofessional.

I think it's a great idea. I'm a SWE and have purchased three now. It seems way easier to run 3 micro businesses than it was to deal with everything that a typical job entails. I think the risk is quite low for most SaaS products.

It's absolutely correct to say Twitter blamed their issues on Rails. It's less likely to be correct that they wouldn't need a similar major change if they had started with anything else and grew from an MVP to one of the busiest sites in the world. I personally find it doubtful that they couldn't have done it with Rails.

I assume you are correct about the automatic withdrawal, however I was able to confirm my TransferWise account with PayPal just last week. PayPal deposited the two small txns in the Transferwise borderless US account. It took a lot longer than I expected, but it did work. I was able to withdraw from my PayPal account into the the TransferWise Borderless account (no fees yay).

This isn't for gaming, or even any normal commercial use. I think Intel and AMD have stayed sane with TDP reqs lately especially for consumers chips.

Agreed. However, I'm more in favour of AMP because if the reasons you mentioned. Essentially I think Google has tricked a lot of publishers into using less dark patterns and avoiding shooting themselves in the foot with heavy ads and tracking. It's not perfect but from an end user perspective I'm grateful for it.

I used this for a while, but it added a lot of time to start each shell. Might not be an issue for you, but might save you some time if you are wondering why it takes a full second to open a new shell.

Agreed. However, many musicians are not and they are very influential in that. I remember when Dave Matthews was in his heyday, he says he could mostly just walk down the street like normal but not if he surrounded himself with an entourage and dressed up like a celebrity.

To me that's an annoying enough problem that I'd say it does not work.
