New Project: Website to Help Manage Your Books

I've been at GitHub for 7 years and we operate independently but have the support and resources of Microsoft when we need them. IMO, they've been amazing partners but day to day the GitHub team builds, prioritizes, and supports GitHub.

Today we've announced that we've signed an agreement to acquire NPM but we technically have not acquired them yet (referred to as "closed"). NPM is still their own company for now and that's why the language is future tense.

GitHub Outage 10 years ago

You shouldn't notice a webhook deluge because the site isn't generating events. I'm watching our webhook services though and will let you know if that changes.

How Doers Do 13 years ago

Not ashamed to say I'm still working towards that ideal. My project is a start for me. It was too good of an example of doing that I couldn't point it out. It could have been anyone in my feed.

Pixels don’t care 13 years ago

Having worked on a lot of mainly (or entirely) remote teams, I think digital/chat interaction is just as good as face to face. Sometimes face to face personalities don't entirely match your chat persona but chat does a good job of passing along enough information to decide. I've worked with people for years while never having met them in-person. No need.

Regardless of remote/in-person, a piece of paper should never be the sole hiring decision.

Yes, we use Twilio.

Our goal to start is to see how people are using the application in terms of minutes and call styles. After that, we'll probably tweak the plans to allow plans to have minutes built in. We figure most customers won't use the lines heavily as a main point of contact (like a Startup who uses us as a contact us line). This way we can build minutes into the plans and still turn a profit.

Or simply join a Credit Union which has a much different approach than banks. Focuses on returning profits as services to the consumer via lower rates, more features, etc.

And, like others have said, if a big concern of yours are the overdraft fees call your bank and tell them you no longer want overdraft protection.
