We're getting data directly and indirectly from a number of sources, that being one of them.

Good Question. The amount of tickets re-sold definitely varies greatly depending on what the event is, and it can probably range from anywhere between 0-40%. I'd say for an event like a popular NHL / NBA / NFL / MLB game, the average is somewhere around 15%.

Good point, this seems to be the trend for a number of newer car sites, we will probably ditch the make/model dropdowns soon as well.

Well, our scrapers take about 2-3 days to complete a loop, so it is indeed possible for you to find dead links here and there...It shouldn't be a large percentage though.

Fortunately, we will have API's from two major source sites within the next few weeks, and that should greatly reduce our dependence on scraping.

You're right -- we should have a slider there instead of the checkboxes.

Keyword search is our number one priority right now. We wanted to have it ready for this re-launch but unfortunately things didn't work out that way.

If you are selecting a body style from the homepage, its possible that you are de-selecting convertibles and instead searching for everything else (since all styles are depressed by default). You are the third person to mention this, so I definitely think we have a UI issue here. We will definitely figure out a better way to present the options.

Not for nothing, but if you merely zoom in on the picture you can tell that the 'winning' line is a different color with the naked eye. And if you want to 'prove' this, a 10-second color replacement in photoshop does the job: http://i.imgur.com/7Mg4z.png

EDIT: It appears that this was a slow rollout, it appears you can no longer click the logo to get back to the google homepage in ANY browser.

EDIT 2: Why did this instantly fall off the front page? This has happened with 5 out of the last 5 things I have posted that made it to the front page. I think my account account is flagged as spam or something.

If you wanted a particular color, you could already do that with the color filter we have set up. As for things like premium model or navigation, you certainly have a point; we're currently working on a free text search which would allow you to remove any listing that doesn't contain your search string in it's description. Hopefully this would help significantly in the situation you are describing.

The point is that there is no way of knowing these things. We're just trying to replicate what a human would be able to decide if he/she were looking at the listings. In this example, http://autoglance.com/img/blog/hidngcars/2.png , wouldn't you contact the seller of Car A before you would contact the seller of Car B? I don't think that many people's first impression would to be skepticism towards car A and hence think that they should look at Car B first.

We are definitely going to tweak the interface to give the user more freedom to do exactly what they want. What we've launched here is definitely an MVP, there are a number of really great features that we're working on but didn't feel ready to implement them at this point.

As for sources, we are definitely going to expand a lot; we felt that what we have now was sufficient for launching.

We do indeed have the ability to do this, but we decided to temporarily restrict some features to help ease the load on our server today (most notably the maximum search radius of 200 miles).
