Thanks for sharing, hn isn't quite the audience for the site's design, but fwiw I really like the quirky design - there's alot to appreciate and get inspiration from.

Congrats to the team, looks very useful. I was an early customer of the Macaw App from the same creator(s?) and was excited for its development and had deeply integrated it into my projects but they got aquihired then all development stopped and bugs frozen in place... honestly didn't feel good and left me wary of new apps like these. Anyways, hopefully this one has a long bright future.

This thought experiment crosses my mind everytime I read the crazy ages of the characters in the book of genesis, the obvious consequence is that space travel and technology would be the dominant science since the earth and this solar system is way too small and boring for creatures who live that long.

That's why I try to reflect on my feelings when I can because they aren't rational. I have to remind myself it's the fiduciary duty of companies to take legal advantage of any opportunity the law gives it.

I feel this contradiction within me when I find myself promoting and praising the growth hacks and 'doing whatever it takes' mentality startups employ and then subsequently realizing that at the same time I would probably shame and criticize the same tactics if the same company got large.

Site is down. The words 'WiFi-enabled SD card' makes my imagination flow. I think in the future you'll have one SD card with all the electronics/computing power and you just insert it into various dummy devices to change it's capabilities.

Congrats, looks useful! Just an opinion, but I think you should skip the cool large animation on your homepage and just start with the "Our platform is essential in scaling and maintaining your business.". I had no idea what Batch was until I scrolled way below the fold.

I think it's great to lower the barrier of entry to financial services and such but one thing I feel is lacking is the education component. There's not enough explanation, warnings, and documentation in the UI or on their site because of the effort of getting people to invest as quickly as possible.

You'll probably want to validate the R in your ROI ratings with the people who will be using your product as quickly as possible instead of making educated guesses. There have been many times where my expectations of return were completely wrong.

Just curious if you experienced those issues with Phaser before or after they replaced Pixi and what's your strategy for sound and controls?

I was mainly thinking how spritesheets tools are much more developed in PhaserEditor2d vs ctjs, but you're definitely right in that loading spritesheets works perfect in Pixi especially if you use a tool like TexturePacker.

When a newspaper headline or blog post title ends in a question mark, the answer is almost always 'no'.

Ct-js and Pixi.js is great, but personally I always reach for Phaser (https://phaser.io/) and the Phaser Editor 2d IDE (https://phasereditor2d.com/) first for games. There's just more batteries included with a better ecosystem if you're making an interactive game. I would use Pixi.js if I didn't need any interaction or sounds or sprite sheets.

It's true that you can find most content somewhere freely available in various disparate corners of the web and everything is trivial if you have the info... but that's a strange reason to automatically reject a book you haven't read.

I know there are studies that suggest elections tend to favor Republicans when voting becomes more restrictive but my intuition is that in this unique case this is just as devastating to Republicans as Democrats since older folks are not going to stand in line during a pandemic. Maybe it's better if beginners treat Rust the same way they would when learning a new music instrument. For most people it's better to take lessons early to avoid bad habits, and assume you know very little even if you know another instrument very well.
