I had tons of exams like that. Its not an issue as the computers simply do not have loud mechanical keyboards connected
If people using some tool made my job harder id be vocally against it during off hours. But lets be real any powerful group interested in tracking people would just be working with or running vpn companies. Or perhaps providing free vpn. Either way I think its all moot as for tracking you have to question who you do and do not want to be tracked by and for other purposes vpn works just fine
Seems like the guys covering his ass. Ive had visas denied in japan over small errors. I dont use visa lawyers anymore and no longer have this issue.
Might ofc also be that the immigration officers got tired of working till 10pm every day
When you yawn inner ear pressure equalizes with outside pressure. Most people will hear something when their eardrums get stretched from pressure differences
This should also be true for TL lights. Which kinda contradicts common sense seeing that those are used all over the place in offices, kitchens, and hospitals, makes me think this paper is bogus.
Here is the study that came to mind: https://www.cell.com/current-biology/fulltext/S0960-9822(17)...
However as the above study iirc doesn't directly state that these patterns cause discomfort and doesn't contain any examples I suggest reading chapter 10 "Photosensitive Epilepsy and Visual Discomfort" of "hierarchies in neurology (1989)" on page 70-71 which proposes this AND contains an example you can look at yourself.
there are a lot of papers on this (some made by inducing seizures in people under lab conditions). The most seizure causing things you could display are simply bars or a grid with moving details, sizes, or alternating in colors.
Basically if it gives you a headache to stare at or just has this sucky attention grabbing feel to it when you look at it its likely to cause seizures. I CBA to dig up the papers on this but there are a bunch if you want to really get into this.
From my experience they work on random person projects 90% of their time
This is one of those things that doesnt matter most of the time but when it matters it really matters.
You see this used even as diagnostic criteria yet when people attribute malice to their computer or car its considered normal. To me this is just normal anthropomorphization and the confusion regarding emotions in autism. I honestly am convinced there is nothing but communication going wrong here
Yea, As far as im aware we have no true idea of the limits of human memory. Either way its amazing that the hippocampus can encode sequences of neurons firing somewhere and replay them later.
Somehow i doubt it coming from a country which could be described as a datacenter for big US tech
Still not as impressive as the sovjet space stations mold
I have had 3 of which 1 has bricked itself.
Im very tempted to think the japanese have higher life expectancy because they are on average much shorter than western europeans with similar quality of life.
At that price point placebos become pretty powerful. I’d like to see some actual data of salt distribution with a regular spoon vs theirs.
EDIT: Seems that it works by stimulating the tongue with current not by changing salt distribution
I dont think thats for everyone. Speaking as someone who has done it.
I remember lying on these surveys when i was 12 out of paranoia, i wonder if the internet makes teens more prone to this
I was thinking about how incredibly funny it would be if it was something mundane like the cube.
Philips as far as im aware doesnt contribute that much anymore. NXP split off forever ago. Philips may have build TSMC together with the taiwanese government but its hardly relevant nowadays.
Nah I just happend to know that the guy who used to produce titanium coated magnetic implants had to stop somewhere around 9 months before the release of the iphone 15 cause the capacity of the company he contracted with for the coating was used up and every other vendor he tried as well. Its not about the titanium itself but rather the ability to work with it for implants in concerned about. I figured it was related to apple as they have very high standards. I can find the source on the implant if anyone is interested iirc its called the titan.
If its 95% recycled. Where did apple recycle that titanium from?
Anyone else concerned about what apples use of titanium means for medical implants? Like does this not hamper production of things people need?
Worst / funniest case of this (if you have a grim sense of humor) is when early unibody macbook pros would get 70C or so to the touch and physically burn the users to the point of minor scarring. People who’d complain about this would be berated by apple defenders stating that “its not a laptop and apple never called it a laptop. yet at the time a simple search for “laptop site:apple.com” sure seemed to indicate that they are referred to as laptops by apple.
Ive work vr googles over 20 hours without issues. Are you sure youre not having dry eyes? I cant do it as long after ive had lasik
the nootropics community suffers from certain individuals who will retake free online IQ test with only a few days in between to "test" these drugs. It doesn't really work well... For a proper retest one has to wait at least 6 months.
In using cerebrolysin I've always assumed that if it is a placebo the rituals and concepts behind it make it a very good placebo. It has a lot of "medical" potency to it because the idea of injecting pig brain "just makes sense". Also I really enjoyed my vacation to eastern Europe to acquire a stash of it.
For its clinical validity I do recall that it passed some clinical trails which I'd need to look up again however like most studies with cerebrolysin it was done in shadier more bribe friendly corners of the globe so its easy to dismiss the positives. Like the study on ADHD in adults done in russia where it massively helped the participants but the sample size was very tiny. Also I highly doubt that it actually cured "mental retardation in children" like some of the packaging claims.
EDIT: here we go for the clinical trails: https://go.drugbank.com/drugs/DB16599
I personally do the opposite and use high contrast mode plus low brightness to safe battery on my non adaptive backlight lcd laptop.
It also doesnt make any sense to do this considering brightness is relative. If im wrong about this please show me how.
CRT was universally used in the past. And backlights are dimmed when displaying black most of the time. You can test your power usage of displays yourself if for some reason you dont believe this.
