You have a whole "new" internet that you can access via ether nodes and you can just consume other smart contracts on the network with no hassle. No need to create an account for a service or purchase some monthly traffic etc. You just interact with other apps because payment is decentralized and everything is public.

Not only the ads. I once recreate the feed for a university project. Just take a look at the sources. Every element is completely obscured, every class and id is just long random strings.

We don't need a completly new system. Just stronger welfare policies (universal health care, higher education etc.) and don't let the very rich avoid the laws we already have in place (monopolies, not paying taxes etc.).

Very interesting! I found the chapters on priming hard to believe anyway. Still a lot of good stuff in that book.

It's one of those lessons that you feel you know but get a much better understanding of when reading about it in-depth.

The best thing to take away from that article is just how much difference there is in type and frequency of how people think.

We all assume that our inner lifes are similiar and it's always interesting to me to discover new facets of personal differences.

Just people talking more about it. It's just really hard to recognize and compare such a subjective experience. If you can visualize, it's "obvious" to you and you think everyone does it. If you can't, you don't know that others do or what it's like.

Putting your thoughts into words so that they can be understood by someone other than yourself or working through a problem are both deliberate ways of thinking that have clear benefits.

I do disagree with your last part. It's quite hard to test though. But let's say I'd ask you to just talk about any topic you want without preparing what you are going to say and right when you start a sentence I will randomly create some signal/noise which you should understand as the signal to stop talking immediately. I'd say you will know exactly what you were about to say.

There is quite a difference between talking to yourself out loud and constant mental chattering.

Psychologist also encourage mindfulness/meditation to calm your mind, which is more what I'm trying to get at.

I don't think these are mutually exclusive. I think people can daydream without reflecting on that and without learning anything.

I think that is exactly the point the article is trying to make. Help people get some benefit from daydreaming.
