This trend will benefit big companies and harm small local companies.

Hiring abroad is not as easy as you might think, usually you need to establish legal presence in the other country and other requirements. And who has resources to do that? Bingo, big companies. Small local companies will be left unable to compete, as they will be forced to hire locally, at higher expense.

Extensions will still be able to read all the requests, just not block them, so Google's argument for privacy is moot.

Given that one of the biggest performance hogs are the ads and tracking scripts on a page, the argument for performance seems sketchy too.

I don't use adblockers myself, as I actually like seeing ads, but Google's arguments are very weak here.

- One tap to enter Picture-in-picture mode in Safari when watching YouTube.

- Choosing an emoji in WhatsApp Desktop.

- Pausing and seeing a podcast's listening progress in Apple Podcasts, even when the app is in the background.

- Compiling in Android Studio.

I have a physical ESC key, so I don't have a problem with the touchbar.

WeChat is a not a chat app. It's a micro universe. Imagine WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, Paypal, Uber, etc. and an entire app platform all integrated into a single app. That's WeChat.

Goodbye, EdgeHTML 8 years ago

A single set of extensions and bookmarks.

With Chrome, even if you manually sync your profiles and keep the same set of extensions installed in both profiles, it runs 2 processes of the same extension. Even when the second profile window is closed.

But for me the deal breaker was managing a separate set of bookmarks.

Safari is the best choice if you care about battery life. I literally get 2 extra hours of battery life when using Safari on macOS vs using Chrome.

What's incredible is that Chrome uses more CPU on Youtube than Safari. When playing the SAME video side by side.

The ability to use multiple accounts of Gmail, Trello, Bitbucket, whatever service you use in a single window. I happen to use the same services for work and for private purposes and it's inconvenient having to log in and log out all the time.

You can sorta do the same in Chrome by creating a full separate profile and opening an extra window, but then your passwords and bookmarks are separated as well. It's a pain in the ass.
