That's also part of the issue here: we _are_ getting new [useless] features for the sake of new features lately: stickers, stories, crypto currency support are the main ones that come to mind atm.

And a formatting feature with (seemingly? would love to be wrong there) no syntax to use it without clicking/taping everywhere which makes it useless for me (and frustrating because with a syntax (say, markdown like?) I would love it).

That his research subject has not given "proper" scientific results yet (or ever) doesn't make him a fraud. We wouldn't go far if researchers could only research proven concepts.

Same date here, but I don't even think they locked mine. I did give up too, but not on physical keyboard phones. I bought a unihertz titan pocket and I love it.

Keyboard is great despite the top row that is really weird coming from blackberry (but I guess it's because of B patents..). Form factor is weird but I actually like having a small phone, and it's ok for most of my use cases.

Looks like a nice use case for eink IMO, as I don't see the point of having video playing under my keys but having keycaps that can change depending on the context sounds nice.

I also don't like where this is going, and can't see any way to make it stop. Maybe some of these illustrators may see their job evolve from content creation to AI training through their art / vision.

Top bar stays hidden, but url bar / search bar appear when I press ctrl+l / ctrl+k. Likely need to tweak css to your likings, and you need to set toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets to true in about:config to enable userChrome.css (you can find various guides on that if needed)

Funny timing for me to see this on HN today

After some years of love/hate relationship with Vivaldi, I'm currently trying (once again...) to go back to Firefox after one too many chrome-based browsers fuck-up: opening Edge in a windows VM suddenly got my RAM usage up by 32GB, which were shared with my non-VM chrome-based browsers (chromium, vivaldi). First time just crashed my whole computer, second time I had to kill it all (the memory usage moved to chromium and then vivaldi when I closed the VM).

Vivaldi performance issues (and some bugs) was already putting me on the edge very often, but I really like the features so switching is very hard and will take a lot of time getting used to. Mouse gestures, panels, integrated mail (took way too long to come), tab stacking/tiling, command palette, etc. Sure some of these have firefox extensions doing something similar but it's still far from being the same.

If only we could set a specific password that if used would wipe the entire device..

Now that's the kind of inequality I can live with.

I agree to some extent. But it doesn't strike me as strange to use such terms for a behavior which is endemic in a country with a very bad rate of morbid obesity which could well be linked to such behavior.

Lately I often switch from metal to "viking/norse" music for programming. I would recommend a lot of what ends up in Fimbul Radio [0], and it being a radio takes away the burden of choosing what to hear / when to switch.

Would definitely also recommend Finntroll (especially this album) and Alestorm (wearing a we are here to drink your beer t-shirt right now xD) too! Some Korpiklaani could fit this playlist pretty well I think.
