sam, go take some time and read about the shoebutton complex

i was not at all enlightened by this article and took most of the points as basic common sense everyone should have (but unfortunately everyone does not). the fact that the author had to come to these conclusions 'over time' means he's susceptible to being just another damn fool in the first place.

wtf is 'brand engagement'? does that mean likes and comments on a post? it would be great if either article spelled that out because if companies are just chasing eyes and clicks, that seems like a stupid game to play that could lose value as brand realize it doesn't necessarily mean conversions.

here's how you promote it: focus on a very narrow market first because your current market is very broad and hard to attack. come up with one specific use case for this bad boy like invoices, and then narrow it even further, custom invoices for paypal, and then you have a tangible market you can start to attack, not an abstract one. my examples aren't probably the best, but you get the idea. excited for you!

the thing is to get some experience and momentum in getting a customer, which is very different than engineering code. lots of good will come out of it, and it will take you in directions you can't anticipate or imagine.

if youre asking me personally what they did to lose my trust, it's all the things i mention and even some i didn't. i think the executives are creepy as hell, especially eric schmidt. have you read all the sexcapades stuff about him in the WSJ? Affairs with murdochs wife. She's pretty damn creepy herself. He doesn't think the laws apply to him, and most people would say, by now, that's true; he's part of the plutocracy and the laws don't apply to him. i say bullshit and that the laws apply to everybody. the stock decisions they've made to keep control away from shareholders, the sunsetting of products unilaterally. No, I don't trust Google at all.

the point of the article is that google has lost trust, and google+ along with strange, self-serving behavior of executives is how. that much is undeniable.

i would love to give working with you a shot. i am a python guy, strong with .net and java who loves writing code and bulding apps with others. please contact me at jwheeler1 at googles email service.

I really like that you seem to already have a handle on your weaknesses. that coupled with your striving to understand where you fit into things will eventually build into the confidence of a strong engineer. the longer it takes, the better.

have you ever considered the problem might be you? i mean, just your attitude that 12+ people have something intrinsically wrong with them seems a little far fetched, doesnt it? maybe you have a stupid idea, and youre developers are happy taking the money but cant stand your ideas or you. sorry to be blunt but if you think the problem is 12 other people, you probably need a reality check, fast.
