I love the html5 version of grooveshark though it's limited I can still use it on my iphone. I really wish there was a directory which showed all html5 apps kind of app store style. Does anyone know if there are any?

Do you guys feel that if Pownce was never shut down - it would have been a pretty big competitor/threat to Twitter?
I find this line pretty interest: "Because Murstein's company owns a bank, it’s able to take advantage of the Fed’s low interest rates to borrow money for 0.35 percent and loan it out to striving young cabbies who want to own a medallion. The cabbie borrows at around 5.5 percent, with 25 percent down.
“If a borrower doesn’t pay, we send out somebody,” Murstein said. “Literally, they can pop the medallion off the hood of the car and bring it back to our office and, bingo, the guy is out of work.” "
He basically has no risk on his end. Looks like he found a pot of gold!
i'm not too sure on the exact details of antitrust but this seems more ethical then antitrust. They are not disallowing the users from NOT being able to purchase more dropbox storage - as long as it goes their stream to purchase it (which results in them getting 30%). Wouldn't antitrust be that they are not allowing it all together on their platform? Wouldn't the same idea of you going to a movie theater and not allowing you to bring in your own food/candy - you must purchase it through them since they make more money from a transaction you would have done elsewhere?
the reason why i said google+ is ruining everything is referring to how they are focusing on one thing and that thing is Google+ as per the convo Sergey had with Jobs about concentrating on one thing and stop turning into Microsoft.
What is the reason why Google is shutting down Patent Search and (they already shut down Uncle Sam)? I mean - does it really cost them a lot of money to keep these sites running but not update them? For search products like that they should at least make a google product archive to at least access some stuff that could be easily found via those search products even though they no longer update or provide support for them anymore.
They are going away from their motto of "organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful". Yes you can find patents via other means or get government info via other means but it's defeating the motto of making it universally accessible.
Google+ is ruining everything.
Maybe it's a pre-april fools prank (as in it's probably not going to happen but the extra hype will be the prank)! No one would take it seriously (even more seriously) if this fell on sunday.
There was an interesting video on Mixergy about a similar strategy (fixing iPhones): http://mixergy.com/magnabosco-milliamp-interview/
Would this work for people who already maxed out their dropbox free account to the 19 gig limit (w/ .edu)?
that's a pretty rad painting. did you make it yourself?
Surprised there is no android app considering the fire tablet runs on backend android?
employees - yes but also to others as well. Steve Jobs was a dick to pretty much anyone he felt fit and said what was on his mind. I don't see that level of rudeness in CEOs nowadays (though i'm not saying this is a good or bad thing)
Now we stayed about decent hotels time to time on our travels and the cost varied as well. We stayed at a decent hotel (probably 2-3star - not even) in mumbai and that cost us 2000INR a night; in goa we paid about 1200INR a night for even a crappier room but it had AC. But on average a hotel room cost about 1000INR/night. If we stayed at a high-end we would pay 5000+INR a night.
I went to India last year and an average Indian restaurant meal at a non-high end restaurant was about 200INR for 2 people.
For a group of 8-10 people it was about 1000INR to eat.
On the other hand - if i went out to Dominoes and got a medium pie which basically only fed me - it cost 300-400INR. Quite the price difference. I noticed that most families got the single serve pizza and split it with their kids which cost about 50INR (that was the size of a personal pan pizza).
hellofax uses dropbox api? That's sweet - but I can't figure out exactly how they use it?
Reading what he has to say about people such as Bill Gates or Mick Jagger in a negative manner kind of puts a damper on my views of Steve Jobs. Yeah - he is speaking the truth; but the purpose for the book he stated was for his children to see who he was - but saying stuff like that in a public fashion is burning bridges (though i'm not sure if this phrase could be stated of a person after they have already passed away).
Thanks! http://db.tt/q2zBDHD
Hi Jubos,
I dont know how to contact you/message you on HN but there's one thing that has gotten a little annoying on spool; when you get to the bottom of the article - it brings up a big spool banner and this gets in the way of finishing up reading the article. I'm not sure if this is a bug or a feature but it's a little annoying :-/
spool is great but my only complaint is that it sometimes takes forever for an article to download. I dont want to wait half a hour/day to read an article I sent to spool but when it does download its really an amazing app!
I always had this discussion with friends. Let's say you had Bill Gates money - it would be very very very hard for him to use up all his money even if he kept buying up things (Mind you - giving it all away is not included). Imagine how hard it would be to use up $50 billion?
better yet - I would be cool if they implemented a "reddit bar" for their twitter feed links so this way you can they have HN Bar which goes on top of the article
same goes with their twitter feed. I like seeing the article but I come to HN for the comments as well (come for the articles - stay for the comments ;) )
grooveshark is great but it could be better. What I like about Spotify compared to Grooveshark is their "playlist" feature where it shows top songs in the "US" or "UK". I know grooveshark offers that but most of the songs sometimes are really old while Spotify refreshes the list every so often. Also - I would use Grooveshark more if it had a better "ratings" feature for radio. When I thumb up/thumb down a song - it doesnt take into account why i did that (such as what Pandora does) and it keeps giving me music I dislike. I want to discover new music - Grooveshark allows this but a lot my friends don't have a Grooveshark account but still use the service w/o signin (now the ones who do use it - I love, since I can see what exactly they listen to and discover new music).
ihackernews is great but I feel there is many bugs when it comes to comments. I use the Hacker News app for android created by Jazzy Chad which is great but the ihackernews api for comments always fails to load. I wish there was a fix for this.
I can see the headlines now "Crunchfund backed by AOL - will go without Micheal Arrington just like the Crunchpad backed by Micheal Arrington - will go without Micheal Arrington".
