Its very rare for only one exploit to be used when a system is compromise. Multiple exploits will be used, one for entry, one for escalation of privileges, etc.

I personally went through this conundrum with Discord, and had to delete the apps.

What were you using Discord for? Were you using it for more than personal voice chat with friends?

The problem Newman/postman have is the same for every GUI based testing application. They almost always produce non human readable config files. Making any kind of code review of such changes at best extremely painful and at worst impossible.

IMO any testing tool that does not save it's test classes in a human readable format is DoA.

I'm in the same boat, I do think we are in the minority. At least the market trends point that direction.

& I agree, I'm still rocking a pixel 4 because I can't bring myself to buy a new phone (when there really hasn't been any note worth advancements in years), especially when the avg phone these days are just mini tablets IMO.

Designed with different goals absolutely, they have very different use cases that they individually accel at.

This however does not stop people from trying to use their one preferred language fer beyond it's focus area.

IMO one of the major turning points in a developers career is when they learn that finding the right tool for the problem is always the game you are playing. But this almost always takes learning this lesson the hard way by pushing a language one know very well past its breakpoint.

Let's not act like both companies haven't bought up every independent studio they can get their hands on. Hell Sony just bought Bungie in a multi billion dollar deal.

IMO the only of the big 3 that can truly be said to "built is library" is Nintendo.

I don't think Reddit cares about appeasing moderators. Though with or without this move it will be very interesting to see what will happen to Reddit if there is a mass exodus of moderators. Moderation is IMO the hardest problem in social media, all other platforms (Twitter, Facebook, etc) are objectively terrible at it. Reddit on the other hand with moderation at the micro level vs macro level seems to work. But its 100% on the backs of charitable time from unpaid users. If that falls apart, I can see it having a devastating effect on Reddit as a whole.

Because they want user's off of 3rd party apps completely. Their API pricing is such that its not realistic for anyone to use it, that is entirely intentional.

They want to completely control the experience, so they an extract as much user data as possible to drive ads.

So long as user's are in 3rd party apps those 3rd parties control the relationship, which Reddit has deemed is unacceptable.

Looking at the light pollution map [1]. There is a band of light between San Antonio and Corpus Christi that does not follow the cities/roads where you would except to see light.

Anyone know what this band represents?

You do know that "mix of gasoline and oil for lubrication." is how EVERY 2-stroke gasoline engine works right? The handheld lawn & garden market is dominated by 2-stroke engines, all of which must meet EPA emission standards.

No its not "needed" but if you dont have an OLED screen it will have a noticeable impact on your battery life. Depending on which particular device this may or may not be an issue. If you have a device that barely manages to make it through the day as it is, ambient display is not for you.

I am mainly speaking to jobs that require a lot of critical thought. Your brain like the rest of your body can get fatigued, but unlike most of the other muscles in your body it is not easy to increase its conditioning.

IE mental exhaustion, there is a limit to how much intensive mental work everyone can put in in a given period of time. This is mainly to what i am speaking of.

That is its not really physically/physiologically/mentally possible to put in 40 hours of true "work". Not consistently anyways. So as much as it is we not truly putting in 40 hours, its the entire effort to be available for 40 hours IMO that you are getting paid for.

In the old days of steamers they were smoke stacks/chimneys. These days the are more just for aesthetics afaik. Those they do put some instrumentation on them im sure. Such as GPS/radar/antennas.

I regularly visit Port Aransas Texas, often fishing the shipping channel that goes to Corpus Christi. The channel can not handle the biggest of tankers, the supertankers. But even so, i can not overstate the size of these ships. It never ceases to amazes me. When you are in the channel you have to take into account them coming through the channel, and i dont mean simply getting out of there way, the channel is plenty wide to hold two(as they go both ways) with much space on both sides. I mean the effect they have on the channel, specifically when they are coming in (full of cargo). When full they draft a full 10-15' more of water. Displacing this much water causes mini tsunami in the channel. If you are to close to the bank you could either find yourself beached or slammed against something.

Its really a spectacle when they come by, even after seeing it hundreds of times i still stop and watch.

One thing not mentioned in this article which is a HUGE factor with moving these large ships is wind drift. Any boat /ship will act as a sail, but the bigger you get the harder it is to control. As anyone who has piloted any vessel can tell you it only takes seconds to get out of control. When moving these huge ships through such tight quarters i can only imagine how difficult it is to control.

I have had this happen to me a few times. Really into my work with my ear phones & music playing, can hear nothing besides my music. Turn to the side and my co-worker is there waiting on me to go over something. Scares the *$#$ at of me every time.

Get a good pair of over ear noise canceling headphones that are light. In-Ear work well but will probably start hurting you ears if you wear them for an extended period of time.

Not siding with the airlines, but the seat spacing likely directly correlates to the ticket costs. Want more space? you will likely have to pay for it.

Really every website should have a mobile-friendly version, but no, i don't think that just because this is mobile testing oriented that it should have a mobile-friendly version any more then any other website. Being for mobile testing doesn't make it any more or less likely to be viewed or used from a mobile device.

Im not sure i would call having multiple options a huge sore point. Chances are many of these options would still exist even if there was an official API.

How does this work with a jar which contains classes using java8 features? Will it work in this situation or is it only for classes to be compiled? Can retrolambda be applied in other situations to keep the java version at 6 but use java 8 features?

I would be happy with Java 7/8.

I'm sure it was a consideration. Also from a team/project structure standpoint it probably a lot easier.
