Hey there! I've been on the site since 2015 and use it every day. Admittedly, I have posted a number of Show HNs since then (8 or so from my count), but didn't consider this usage "primarily for promotion" but i'll keep it in mind, thanks!

As someone who only has some minor experience with Go, can you maybe elaborate a bit on what you mean by the stdlib providing such interfaces? I don’t recall any such paradigm being called out when first learning the language and it sounds pretty interesting.

I decided to build my own RSS reader a few months back after getting into the habit of consuming news via RSS, and not really being thrilled with any of the readers out there. The source is open and can be pulled/built locally from GitHub[0] or accessed at the public instance for free[1]. It also made it to the front page of HN through a Shown HN post a while back, so at least a few people here enjoyed it (:

That was me trying to be clever choosing a quintessential dog name, as the application "fetches" the paper (rss feeds) for you :D . I was playing around with the name Rover and a few others for a while as well, but went with Rufus for the cheap .news TLD
