I’m using the caps unlocked CU7 every day; that’s how i discovered it : same frustration as yours!

( then i jumped onto otholinear keeb and now I’m not even bothered by apple anymore and run omarchy on a second hand thinkpad. Same excitement as when i got my first powerbook in the early 2000s…)

it seems we all will slowly learn to live within new contexts; i really appreciate their openness about it and it gives me insights to munch on thanks to you all also to ring in with dev-style annecdotes (i'm stilllearning everyday, and hope to continue for a long time): those big-prs and tactical tornadoes stories are helping keep the crafts and thinking afloat, somehow.

The few tests i ran i just got Granite4.1 tell me about YOLO repeatedly for no reasons; every questions and prompts were answered with a mention of a vision system unrelated with the task…

I just did! Warmly encouraging you to try it out! Managed to put Omarchy on an external ssd on my old macbookpro 2019; rarely booting in macos now. Long time i haven’t enjoyed using a computer SO MUCH!

Why i posted this: I'm deeply touched by this extreme simplicity. All you need is a text file and you can get all your incoming events in the terminal. Quite naively and with the help of AI, I'm building a bash script (as a quick proof of concept) to integrate this radical simplicity with some contemporary .ics files. Maybe you get some inspiration from this as well.

CSS Grid Lanes 7 months ago

With Masonry and using the bin packing algorithm/layout, according to your visual requirements, you can (should?) use a system for sizes for the sizing element and get different widths for the underlying columns of the ‘grid’; ie: if the sizing element is a quarter of base width, you scale down some of the widest image to bring more homogeneity-or on the contrary balance it with some enlarged elements that brings some rythm.

Edit: doc has this first example https://masonry.desandro.com/layout that you could use but have to imagine images to be twice the size, similar to a Müller Brockmann grid

Discomfort? Omg :) Yet it’s not taking anything to anyone, it’s not costing them anything and if they don’t feel the need to state pronouns nobody is going to force them to do so… so why refuse a little acceptance to the Other. A while back, some got crucified for having different ideas… Happy Easter to those who celebrate and a happy weekend to all others :)

"It's a bit fiddly because time isn't passing at the same rate for the device as it is for the satellites, but we were able to work it out."

that just knocked my brain down.

I find it weird that not everyone agree Meta and Facebook and social networks in general are doing some good the the society and our democracies; yet they manage to spend incredible amount of money/energy/time to develop solutions to problems we aren't exactly sure are worth solving…

potentially infinite

The moment we run out of rare minerals to build touch screens, there wont be an infinite e-waste problem anymore, unless we find some other fancy uses. It’s a finite resource logic that is needed; that mindset should be adopted globally and there should be a general agreement on how to best manage these finite resources…

Somewhere along the way we forgot that interruptions are toxic to real work. It wasn’t always this way. On day 1 of my first trading job the only instruction I received was ‘when the market is open, mute your phone.’ The subtext was ‘or else’. If someone said this to me today I’d give them a hug, and I’m not a hugger.

Muting my phone and its endless alerts: it’s what i do from Monday to Friday; 8am to 6pm.
