As a new programmer starting with C I am trying to learn how to go from a beginner to an intermediate any recommendations of projects to help learn C?

It is difficult for me to find projects that I see are "valuable" for a lack of a better term.

This is a nicely designed site. The problem I have with this information is there is so many paths and classes to take for computer science. I have started teachyourselfcs and gotten through one chapter of the book. I have done CS50x. I have completed the MIT introductory course. I feel as if I am stuck in a introductory programmer hell with no direction because there are million different branches on the tree. What I seek is mentorship of where to go and what to choose. Yes this is asking for someone to give up there time to help me. However, a site that matches beginners with a personal tutor for free just for guidance and code reviews would be amazing. Again, the free part is a lot to ask but I am an idealist for this post.

Can you extrapolate on this a bit more? I understand the meaning but it seems different no?

I like the three questions you state from an analytical perspective. I am going to make this a checklist with these three when reviewing a solution.

As someone with a degree in chemistry and now attempting to self-learn CS, I have found working through detailed books and problems the best way to learn.

If only I would have known this simple fact in my chemistry lectures instead of trying to look through the book for what the teacher would test on. Yes I tested well but my understanding of the full concepts is not as expected.
