it was the dumbest question ever, too! that might have made it worse. "What happens to the virus plot line in the movie Office Space?" something along those lines.
I asked Perplexity a question. Gave me an answer I accepted, then, thought, better just double check this with a Google search.
Nope Perplexity gave me a totally wrong answer.
I cannot tell you how upsetting a user experience this was to me. Thinking about canceling my Pro sub off of one wrong answer. Can’t trust it.
I read it as a direct opposition to the moralizing here oh HN about how it’s morally wrong to not let people work from home. (the “noise” argument, the “I’m individually more productive” arguments and all that)
likewise. probably didn't help that I opened up a bottle of wine at the start.
Interesting they are doing a 20 mile radius on your current address. Wonder how that is going to fall out, its like rewarding people that moved away. Some of the commuter cities to SF would fall outside of that line (Lafayette, Walnut Creek, Pleasanton).
Have you tried Bard?
Do they have the “space laser” backhaul?
i've used these guys: Thinq and they are awesome for sms / messaging apis
I like where this is going. I feel append-only architectures are under appreciated.
seems complicated.
Love it. Ultima III !
When I read Scientific American when I was in High School in the 90’s it was a very challenging read. I don’t think any publication outside of a scientific journal is that rigorous anymore.
Uh, so standard ISP operating procedures.
I feel like the "max 14 days per year" put the slam down on 2 days home / 3 days office everyone said would happen.
Is someone procrastinating on writing their thesis?
ultimate engineer entitlement: we are entitled to make $500k per year and not be accountable for our mistakes.
Huh, I guess goog is going to have to go back to relying on ad words.
We are all at the mercy of “The Algo” even people that think they are immune.
Have you looked at dumping the “wellness”?
Your Money or Your Life”? YMYL is Google’s nickname for health and wellness websites.

Sounds like the dna printing to rna translation could be done, but not the “secret sauce” of the lipid bubble delivery?
Caveblazers did a similar job for me.
attribute it to too many late nights in the pub ;)
with alcohol you can't create more happiness, you can only borrow it from the future.
I thought a lot about this comparing M1 to nVida Maxine AI video conferencing.
setting up all these feature on a PC seems like such a kluge compared to apple's integrated hardware/software stack.
https://developer.nvidia.com/maxine
Maxine includes APIs for the latest innovations from NVIDIA research such as face alignment, gaze correction, face re-lighting and real time translation in addition to capabilities such as super-resolution, noise removal, closed captioning and virtual assistants.
any other thoughts on how it went with them? was the price fair? were they quick and faithful?
i don't understand how you're supposed to develop server-side x86 code on this machine. isnt this an important market for the mac?
Can’t help but to think of the international student angle here.
Sounds similar to the prior crimp YouTube pulled on iOS. In order to listen to the audio of a YouTube while the screen was turned off, you need to pay for YouTube Premium.
no.
Shhhhhh.
