Author here. I wrote this after starting my journey to replace some of the most common apps I used on a regular basis. I found myself constantly inundated by distracting ads, and kept running into core features that were unnecessarily paywall blocked. I think we can raise our expectations for utilities like this, and even go beyond simple utilities to make hosted and more complex solutions more accessible to others.

This looks like some very finely crafted phishing.

As someone who works in a space where we buy ads, I love things like this. Data points like this just shouldn't be on the table for sale. Just makes sure that we don't depend on best intentions alone to make sure we protect people. A step in the right direction.
