Coavl was created because we believe in the power of a simple list. We want to nurture a community that brings passionate people together to discover and share knowledge in the subjects that matter the most to them and to you in a way that's easily consumed by everyone.

The target audience is people who are into niche communities and who have an obsession with the power of a simple list.

Personally for me, I use lists for everything and my hypothesis is that by having a platform to share useful lists with others would be hugely beneficial. By creating a restricted format in which people share, I think people will bring their creativity in how they use the platform.

I'm excited to hear your feedback and suggestions. I just recently got the app into an MVP state where I'm ready to share it but there's definitely still a lot of work to do to improve the platform.

I'd like to hear what you think! Let me know if you have any suggestions for categories or maybe contribute a list of your own in a topic you're passionate about.

It's not something I've done but it's something I could see myself doing while travelling more if there was a more seamless way to share/aggregate/organize them. I was thinking more along the lines of candid short videos like "Hey guys we just had a crazy 8 hour ride on a Jeepney from Manila to Banaue and here we are amongst the breath-taking rice fields. Take a look!".

I haven't tried out the app yet but by looking at the landing page it looks like there isn't a way to journal video entries? I've been trying to find a travel journal app that can let me take short snaps and short video updates as I travel.

That intro video was pretty good although seemed a bit long. Cool idea but I'd imagine these type of sites have a big chicken and egg problem.

I believe rounded corners do not render nicely with CSS3 on Android's implementation of WebKit. At least on my device, if you create rounded corner buttons using CSS3, they end up looking jagged in the browser.

Congrats guys! Great stuff. The screenshots look very appealing already and I'm not even much of a gamer.

I like the interface. Really simple and it presents the content nicely. I found myself browsing quite a few of the dogfights on the homepage. Great work on it!

Guilty as charged. I did absolutely no cross browser testing with IE for DailyChomp mainly due to time constraints with school starting. No excuse but thanks for the good reminder. I will try to fix up the IE issues as soon as I can. Sorry about that!

1) For sure! I thought about sliding through screenshots on the mobile device's screen. Do you think there is a better approach? Bigger screenshots maybe?

2) I actually looked around a bit at places like Facebook and Twitter and noticed a similar approach with logos designed however but the formal name when referencing it in sentences is with the proper capitalizations. Not sure if this is the best way to do it but I just tried to follow 'conventions' I've seen around.

3) Probably a good idea, always good to give several options.

It's using hashbang links simply because the mobile web application uses a similar approach in order to reduce the assets being transferred over 3g connections.

The desktop web application is bootstrapping the same JavaScript at the moment so it uses a similar approach in requesting the assets that change.

The idea is so the desktop can easily inherit most of the functionality of the mobile web application with minimal modifications.

My initial thought when viewing the site was "what does this site do?". After clicking around quickly I still didn't quite get it until I came back here and read your description.

I think it's because you have two images and one is a screenshot of an email inbox. I think this may be confusing because the headings you have on them aren't quite visible at first glance. My suggestion would be to make it more visible or put some more description/explanation of your service like you have described right in this post here! I think that would clear up what the purpose of your app is.

Also on the page of book listings you may want to make each "book row" clickable. Possibly put a subtle background on mouse over and when they click it sends them to the page to enter their email. This makes it a bit more user friendly instead of scanning right and finding the appropriate "Start reading now" link.

Great idea though, I can find this useful reading the email on my smartphone on my way to school!
