This makes me sad. For a while, the video player team at Crunchyroll was essentially just me. I spent countless hours fixing bugs and building features, especially around subtitling. The teammate who joined after me really took it to the next level. When I left, the player felt like it was in good hands — they even open-sourced the code for a time.

Condé Nast and OpenAI have struck a multi-year deal that will allow the AI giant to use content from the media giant’s roster of properties—which includes the New Yorker, Vogue, Vanity Fair, Bon Appetit, and, yes, WIRED.

I'm disappointed by the fact that this disclaimer isn't more explicit.

They are somewhat related... the codec's title styling included a winking smiley face emoji -- "DivX ;-)" -- as a tongue-in-cheek nod to the failed video disk technology.

I became a paid subscriber specifically to use their WebDAV features. I almost immediately unsubscribed as, at the time, I could not find a viable WebDAV client. I simply don't believe that this entire ecosystem supports it.
