What makes you think Paul Graham knows what he's talking about re: space, data centers, and the logistics of lifting data centers into space and the ongoing maintenance of them. I don't understand the deification his thoughts receive around here.

The other parties aren't standing in this particular byelection because they (correctly) realise that it's just a media stunt by Farage, who is attempting to paint himself as a victim of establishment harassment (while being the epitome of 'the establishment' himself). By not standing, and forcing Farage to run against joke candidates, they've made a fool of him (which generally harms populists more than anything else you can throw at them).

The other parties have all said that they will run candidates against Farage in the almost inevitable second byelection that will by triggered later when parliament finishes its investigation into his corruption and punishes him for it.

It is extremely difficult for me to care about the fate of private schools. In my opinion, they shouldn't exist. If the rich are forced to send their children to the same schools as everyone else, maybe they'll pressure the government to improve said schools.

X lets post authors mark their content as NSFW, and I'd assume they're doing some sort of algorithmic checking or making use of user reports of content to classify content too, to varying degrees of success. I've just been implementing a bunch of URL-related utility functions in Go. Decided the most pragmatic solution of handling IPv6 addresses in URL hosts is to outright reject zone identifiers because of the ambiguity in how to parse / serialize them, and the inconsistent ways others have done it (or most of the time, not done it).

RFC 3986 says "This syntax does not support IPv6 scoped addressing zone identifiers." Makes sense because '%' is a reserved character for percent encoding (hence the %25 that Go's net/url expects).

The URL Standard explicitly states "Support for <zone_id> is intentionally omitted."

I think the county list is set in stone because Royal Mail refuses to update them (for some idiotic reason they still control the postcode database, which I guess lots of websites use and therefore use the old county names / boundaries). For example, it's still Humberside, even though that hasn't existed for decades.
