I worked at a speed shop in my youth and at the time I was into Paintball so I had an idea.

We tried something similar to good effect, but we unfortunately had no good knowledge on how to refine it. It's hard to just shoot compressed air into the manifold and not have it blow back out of the intake. Either way we figured out a way to increase the volumetric efficiency as well as gains from running cool dense air. We were very close to pre-spinning the existing turbo/super setups and experimented with that as well. We gave up because Nitrous oxide at the time was much easier to work with and popular, and the tanks we had to experiment with was tiny compared to the large scuba tanks.

We also tried using compressed CO2 bottles to spray towards the intercooler to cool that down considerably, that worked decently as well, but no good data to support.

As a Korean, it's wild to see what words that we got from the Japanese come from somewhere even further. I've always wondered some like

Jjokki - Jacket/vest

Ppang - Bread

dah-mah (I think?) - bulb/fuse

mang-toh - Coat/cloak

jjah-mong - pomelo like fruit

I think the best thing to do is to pay managers less than developers and also disqualify anyone who demands to be a manager, that removes all the folks doing it for the wrong incentives.

I know of a few managers that hate being a manager, and are not the best at it but they've done so because they needed the money.

The first gen was also kinda terrible because SSDs were not standard on those. But the 2010s were and it really made it shine. I got a 2012 one and said "Ok I get it now".

Except for their Rail system, that one stops working if you look at it wrong.

Having been closely tied to Real Estate and landlords, this is the current understanding of most realtors that deal in English Montreal and its surrounding areas. Sure it may not be the only reason, but it is a definite factor.

As for examples of xenophobia, I don't know of any other places where they have a separate language police, I know personally of non-white owned stores being harassed and fined for having the wrong accent on their french sign. There are countless politicians who've blamed immigrants for their woes, Jacques Parizeau being a famous one for blaming the Ethnic votes for their loss. CAQ just took a majority, look up Bill 21.

Rent is cheap because people are leaving the xenophobic environment. There's always some referendum talk on a 20 year cycle to keep the rates low, 70s, 90, 10s.

So yeah there's a huge Brain Drain from Anglo/English speaking Immigrant populations, as well as people fed up with the corruption.

I'm not well versed in the domain to say one thing or another so I will wait to form a concrete opinion before I hear from an expert in the field. I am very curious though like you, if there's a relation between the two.

Man this is the truth.

They all have some combination of: odd posture, odd gait, a dry cough, or bad skin. You can talk about ageism in the Tech world, but I've worked as a tradesman for a bit of time when I was young, and there were not many past 50 much less 50 and healthy. Over lunch they each all recounted their health issues, which made me quit that summer and get an office job.

I use Sport as my meditation.

My mother in law's mom is from one of these islands, and when I showed her the pictures of this site, she knew the names of most people and their backgrounds. It was incredible listening to that.

She also said that a few of the houses as it was in the process of transported over the water and then resettled, were looted while people were told to stay away, quite sad.

The worst feeling for me is having to buy something twice, where the first time I buy something cheaper that I feel is going to be ok or good enough, and no it falls apart.

These were bad examples as there are brands where there's true bang-for-buck improvement.

I've had many brands of socks, because I'm so picky.

Some brands are objectively much better, since they support my feet better, have no seams around the toe area that drives me nuts, wears better (my cheaper socks get holes in them in about a year), it breathes better, it reacts to moisture better, it stays up on my ankle better and doesn't slide down, it doesn't twist on my feet because it holds the shape better, and it's cushioned better among other things.

Ever since my work has issued me a USB-C MacBook, I've gone through 4! Hubs.

First was a Satechi, which overheated and broke just past a year which was the warranty period. I left a bad review on Amazon, and they replaced it. That one broke... just past a year.

Work then gave me another brand that I forget, and those too lasted only a year each or less.

I've finally settled on having two Anker Hubs and splitting the amount of cables going into each.

It's fun sometimes, but other times it really takes away from the conversation.

This is similar to how I see it. I have a hard time explaining how 7 is a tipsy number that's about the fall into 3 and 4, and how 9 has a voracious appetite to take away a number from another and you can't stop him. It all started when I was younger and my mom told me to bring every number down to 2s and 3s, and to always be adding or subtracting idle numbers (just numbers without any operators).

I explained it (poorly) to my wife once and she made fun of me about it. Well until our son told us years later out of the blue that it's how he sees numbers.

The main reason Google did well in the past is that it was a fast alternative to the busy Yahoo!.

Right, I'm a React dev, but currently I'm at a point in my project where I have to dip into Flask/Jinja2.

It's not "fun" per se in the front-end part, but it's absolutely fine, and what's required for my work. I don't mind it at all, if anything I'm happy and curious about BE/Python and how that part works.

I remember seeing a Taiwanese group of guys who did just this. I wish I had the link for you.

It seemed risky at the time as you were paypaling a bunch of money to these guys overseas without any storefront. But the replies and the great reviews seemed genuine enough that I would have if I had the funds to get another laptop.

But I personally would love the challenge. You need to pace yourself which would be hard, but I would love to be the change that comes from within an organization. I've done this in three places and looking back and seeing the results were very satisfying.

So you had the beautifully engineered experience of macOS to draw native user experiences from, and then you just threw it out because you wanted parity?

That doesn't make the macOS experience better, it makes it worse.

For some, we don't need more features, we just need reliability and speed.

I don't care if my IDE takes an extra beat or so. But I want and need my password right fast, as soon as I need it. Every slow app that I use is by necessity not choice. Slack would be the first thing I uninstall as soon as my work doesn't need it, it would honestly be my first action.
