Do this! I went to community college and you where guaranteed admission into any state school as long as you meet the GPA requirements. Work hard at community college and go to a great state school. Best thing to do if you messed up in high school and still want to go to a good school.

The difference between static site and full fledged CMS. What if I just want to design something and do some simple DB calls? Don't want something big like wordpress and don't want to dive into some framework and setting up a DB just to access a DB on one or two elements of the page. I want something in the middle that a designer can just hit a couple endpoints and not have to worry about the backend stuff.

The difference is only 4k. So not much of a difference.

Do you think it would hurt me in the future to not have worked in a real office environment?

Yep I do this everyday. I used to think TODO lists were for people who weren't disciplined enough to get stuff done. But it keeps me concentrated on what task needs to be done instead of reading every blog post in the world.

I'm interested in hearing more about Amazon beanstalk. Haven't personally used it. But does having my ec2 under beanstalk take care of securing my instances?
