Trump Shutdown Must End

I agree, China is now a nightmare dictatorship. We should do everything we possibly can to support the free peoples remaining in Hong Kong and Taiwan and perhaps start pushing freedom into China.

I wonder what Chinese citizens think when a popular show like South Park just completely disappears?

I usually appreciate South Park and it's very strong morals. I think we all need to boycott the NBA and Blizzard for putting money over freedom.

I think the Russian war on the west is far larger than even this article shows. I think Putin is treating this like a total war and directing massive resources of money and people to destabilize every country around the world he can. Russia had a major hand in supporting dictators in Venezuela and Syria, Putin has murdered indiscriminately around the globe without consequences. He purposely made public examples of some of the people murdered, but I am sure he has the ability to secretly murder people in make it look like heart attacks or something like that. I bet in 50 years we will discover Putin has had thousands of people killed overseas to go with the hundreds of thousands murdered in his own country. I work in PR and every day I see traces of the largest PR campaign I've ever seen. Just look in the comments of any newspaper and you will start to discover this.

This is a good point, law is the operating system for society. When you think about any given issue, you run into many sub-issues.

However, keep in mind this is Chinese law which at this point is only enforced selectively to back the goals of its dictator and the CCP. If dictator Xi Jumping did not want this feel good story to run, it would not have ran. If this farmer had any way even hinted it crossing the communist party of China, he probably would have been murdered and buried in his own field.

South Park is 100% right. We need to back them in their fight against a murderous totalitarian dictatorship holding millions of people in concentration camps.

We might like the cheap goods coming from China, but remember they come from people who are forced to work at 7 days a week 14 hours a day for nearly no pay.

Boycott the NBA and Blizzard and anyone else who won't start standing up for democracy.

We need to avoid getting lost in minor internal debates. I agree some classes of people in America have had more difficulty exercising their rights, but they always had those rights and the courts enforced them usually. What we are talking about with China and Russia is totalitarian dictatorships that come and take you from your home and beat you and murder you for making a comment on the internet they didn't like or even sharing a Winnie the Poo meme.

We need to all band together to fight this or we will lose all of our privileges and rights.

This is not true. The interstate highway system was a massive improvement to our country and enabled us to leap ahead. There are always sour grapes from people who had to move, but moving should not be a big deal.

If we don't pay the national debt, the US economy would suffer enormously. Eventually people would lose trust in the US dollar itself causing hyperinflation which leads to the worst disasters in modern history.

I agree. The article's key takeaway is that "Mute buttons in any form should raise red flags".

I strongly agree that the baby boomer generation will not be looked on well by history as this generation:

-Took massive debt to pay for entitlements that will eventually have to be paid for by their grandchildren.

-Elected politicians based not on competence but on relatives (Bush, Clinton), or on easily disproved false pretenses (Trump).

-Encouraged and allowed the growth of special interest industries that damaged the country (patent lawyers, AMA increasing healthcare costs, etc). This destroyed free markets.

-Fought massively expensive foreign wars with their kids and grandkids without end goals and strictly limited troops rules of engagement with misguided morality.

-Destroyed legitimate political debate in favor of simply screaming that your side is right and endlessly saying "what about Hillary" or "what about Trump" instead of engaging on issues.

When you are trying to build a friendship with someone, do you only pay for coffee if they did it for you before? Or do you out out a good faith effort and buy them coffee or lunch a couple of times? Companies and employees are the same way. Companies will sometimes overpay someone in the hope for extra effort, or an employee may put in extra time in the hope for future rewards.

A win win approach is much better than a zero sum mindset to relationships and employment.

My employees who have a win win approach have been massively rewarded over time, those with zero sum mindsets don't last long here or anywhere else and never get beyond entry level.
