So I guess Mozilla is scrambling to find new revenue streams since 88% of their revenue comes from it.

I won’t fund Mozilla because it’s been forced to operate fairly.

They should build a product that makes me want to pay for it.

You need a product that people want to get traction…

Handling large images with resolutions higher than 2048x2048 remains a challenge for MLLMs.

Image chunking splits large images into multiple smaller images. Then the model processes each image and uses information from all of them to answer a question.

I managed to get it to work with a 3840px X 20294px web page screenshot. It also works with documents that have figures (tables, charts, illustrations, etc).

Answer engines, content creation and UI navigation are evolving the Internet into a new mutation.

Search returns answers. Web pages are generated on the fly and the browser browses for us.

This is a good point. Foundational/Frontier models already pack lots of contextual knowledge that makes user behaviour data collection less relevant.

Whilst building AskPandi, I have only found user’s location to be the only major signal that would greatly improve search results and answers.

Ilya is the technical mastermind behind OAI. The technical breakthroughs needed for AGI are not there yet. Ilya, Yann, Demis and many others are aware of it.

An aggressive push for applied research and commercialisation means less resources for technical breakthroughs.

This is a tricky situation.

Thing with Neeva is that it was marginally better not 2x nor 10x better.

Not enough for people to make the switch.

If I were to take on Google, the approach would be search plus something else.

No one will beat Google just on traditional search.

That’s the point of AI in search.

It will help you surface information faster.

It's not a bad idea to go back. My gf did it. She left to work at a large corporation. She really hated the politics despite having a 40% higher pay.

Flexibility and job satisfaction at her current job couldn't he matched by the large corpey.

This feels particularly relatable as my company has also been acquired. I now know how it feels to work at a large company for the first time.

I've always thought Big Techs where the best to build innovative products because they had resources. It's the opposite due to politics and bureaucracy.

Big Tech gets away because of existing products that were made when the company was nimble. Plus some products are capital intensive like Apple Watch or AI research.

The best organisational setup to make great products are startups. Politics tend to be minimal in early days. If the company is rapidly growing, there is no time for politics.

I think it was Erik Schmidt who said that when a company stops to grow, politics and bureaucracy settles in.

That's probably what's happening at Big Tech.
