Serious, analytics is a sensitive topic for me, because I've invested weeks into these tools and many of them have not grown as we've become more intelligent. I'm totally jaded from the Mixpanel API and partially jaded from Segment.io too... I feel like most folks who take their data serious go for their own solutions.

Yes I had a lot of trouble having the slightest clue what you were talking about.

Yes the point is, we take risk if we think it makes us execute better. If you're an investor who appreciates that culture you'll gravitate to our company. If you're traditional and prefer to be proper all the time, you'll be turned off. That was the opportunity we took, to help our investors decide if they like it or not before even reaching out to us to find out more.

I believe most people start ideas because they feel the pain and think they can solve it.

Whilst it's yet to be seen how big the monetizable market for this concept is... the pain people experience is all over the world everyday.

IRC is a different use case. There are no gaurantees that your needs will be addressed. Help through IM had less benefits for "learning". Also IRC particularly shines for niche frameworks where the knowledge is limited to a few that really want to share it into a support community. But for something like Rails, you're better off following tutorials and blogs. But then you can get overwhelmed and connect the dots wrong. So guidance through pairing can fast track learning on time and resource sensitive projects.
