Native keyboard shortcuts are there for all to use to switch desktops, but the fading in/out animations that last around 1s completely prevent fast desktop switches as is so useful in i3/sway.
Millions of families make this reasoning and spend $30k or more per year and per kid from age 2. Very few of these kids make it to Harvard or other top 4 colleges, maybe 1 will become president.
Sane Western countries have free and decent public education; and parents can't withdraw their future retirement early to fund dreams.

Since Covid, NYC daycares have uniformly updated their sick policy. Child has fever or one diarrhea, has to wait home 3 days before returning. E.g.: Daycare calls the parents to pick up a sick child on Tuesday midday, child can return next Monday at the earliest.

The problem of unsustainable debts of EU countries is complex. Debts cannot be fully forgotten as this sets an unsustainable precedent. Full austerity isn't sustainable either. Any reasonable solution will be nuanced.

Part of the student debt crisis are families making poor economic choices.
I am not sure families are the ones to blame here. Astronomical tuition and loan interests that cannot be forgotten in bankruptcy is a predatory combo.
In the European countries you mention no student start their professional like with $50k-100k in unforgivable debt.

I see it more as hostility to the HR policies in place at some of the companies. A new parent at facebook gets 4 months leave after the birth and then can take another 10 weeks of family leave.
It's not like facebook employees typically have 10 kids. The benefits you mention happen once, twice and rarely three or more times in a lifetime.
This policy also means that younger employees will be able to enjoy the same policy if they become parents in the next 20 years.
Managing remote school sessions plus my work was a mess.
I made my 10 and 12yo kids drop their remote school stuff and work with me instead. The young one is responsible for slack, keeping everyone in the living room updated and replying with text and the occasional gif, he also summarizes with voice important incoming emails. Older one writes python code alongside me and I now mostly check her syntax. She learned git at the beginning of the pandemic and my manager is now impressed that commits from us get pushed while I am on the phone with him.
The kids drafted an email yesterday to ask for a raise and align my compensation with that of 1senior+2juniors SWE. Fingers crossed

Truancy can be dealt with by providing food to the kid at the end of the school day, food meant to be brought home.
There are of course arguments against this, e.g., school are not meant for this. Well, schools are not meant to operate with absent students and whatever can fix should be considered.

I would hope the key presses required to use the native search among opened tabs had changed.

The last bullet is a close to ideal, native search among open tabs and make it so smooth to find an opened tab among dozens. But the key presses necessary to get there? Who can use that without weekly hospital stays for finger RSIs?
I love firefox. If someone, somewhere reads this, please please please think of simpler key presses to use this nice, already built functionality.

A funny one: I am locked out of a former Gmail that forwards every email to my currently active address. This "forward everything" is not throughout IMAP/Pop but some Gmail feature.

Criticism of interview practices is very common. However, I can't imagine that large companies that hire in the hundreds/1000s every year (say, FANG) don't have enough data to have optimized their interview practices.
These companies know in the last 10-20 years who interviewed who and the performance of everyone after hiring. With enough data you can:
- A/B test which interview questions better predict future performance
- how much each interviewer's feedback is correlated with future performance of the interviewee. Some interviewer's are likely terrible and they should not interview. Some interviewers at good at predicting future performance and they should interview much more if not full time.
- which interviewer provides biased feedback (women, minorities, etc)
Either these companies are not analysing this data and the interview practices may indeed be garbage. Or FAANG companies are analysing this data and otpimizing their interview practices accordingly and the process/results are actually as fair and good as it can be.

I am as happy as I could get with Firefox except for the native tab-switching Among opened tabs.
Tab search is done by typing % in the address bar followed by a keyword to search among opened tabs.
- Ctr+L to get in the address bar
- Shift+6 to type %
- space,
- type your keywords.
My fingers, especially the pinky just cannot do this, particularly switching between Ctrl and Shift. Also, you have to release Shift otherwise the space doesn’t get typed.
Please, please come up with an easier finger gymnastics to use this native feature.
