The only antidote to bureaucracy is more bureaucracy.

We all learn to walk, but most of us did stop learning to ride horses.
such clickbait
Can someone explain to me why they can't solve this by moving the money back from Alameda to FTX? Assuming Alameda is not that bad at investing money, most of the loan should still be there no?
Notice can be given in the form of severance.
This is not how the WARN act works. Companies do not need to give a 60 day warning to layoff employees. They can instead pay out 60 days of severance. Which is what everyone always does since letting employees hang out at the office for 2 months after a layoff would be super weird.
For those judging this guy - let's remember most of us are pretty similar. Might be an opportunity to look inwards.
Factorio is the best game I've ever played. It's so good.
Looks like it's fixed :(
This is completely incorrect and fundamentally misunderstands the drug supply chain. The price cost plus lists as typical are just made up. The price they have is just a markup on top of the acquisition price that every pharmacy gets. And the savings the claim are often comparing brand prices to generic prices. First, the consumer view of a brand price is not the same as the 'net price' paid by medicare (there are 20% to even 90% discounts handed by pharma to medicare directly). And second, brands are only dispensed when argued for by the prescriber.
The waste and high prices in the system is generated by pbms taking massive discounts from pharma (of which they keep a %) for brand drugs that shouldnt be covered or often even sold.
Cost plus pharmacy is vaporware - they are a website which applies a flat markup on top of third party pharmacies that will ship you the med. There are no special discounts, they literally aren't doing anything.
In the modern country of America taxi firms are run by literal mafias... Like actually.
Funny to also realize you are not noticing the giant banner on Stackexchange :)
Did it tho?
But let's keep the disposable flavored e-cigarettes from China...
Then start a company and choose to make that experiment. Don't shove it onto someone else's.
Thinking that organizing a union to change the direction of the company is an exciting experiment is really irresponsible. All the paycheck everyone at the company is getting needs to come from somewhere. You do not have the right to bet everyone's paycheck on an exciting experiment.
Hmmm a 2% layoff? Yeah, they just wanted fired a bunch of low performers and disgruntled employees. Much easier in a layoff so no one can sue.
I'm convinced my cat fully understands english, but is biding his time to murder me and take over.
This feels like the twilight zone. It’s not like we use to make sure the viewer knew what gender the person speaking was. What is this for?
Great article. This is always the tension on the political left. Adding restrictions to protect a group accidentally creates downstream effects of hurting this group.
The right is no better and can tend toward abusive and unfair advantages.
Neither is side correct or better, we all need to feel our way on this edge and be clear minded enough not to fall into a tribal LEFT > RIGHT or RIGHT > LEFT.
What a waste of a sweet domain name
He's still doing his paternity leave and will be paid through it. Company just needs to get going on hiring someone else in the job.
Yeah that's true, I think the async world is probably one that works for many.
For me, "working to live" doesn't resonate. I miss is the camaraderie and feeling of going to battle with people I like. For me, building something, and competing to win is what gives me the most meaning in life. I love my family, but there's something in me that wants to give more to the world. It's not for everyone and of course it's not the only way to live. But that's what feels right for me, and I miss it.
Agree with this - that fundraise treadmill is brutal abyss to live in.
I want preview on iOS!!
Do most people really want this world where you rarely interact directly with another human? Every time I try it for a few days, I start feeling depressed.
<3 Love that
There's laws you need to follow of course.
But again, market share is another interesting signal (just like a CEOs behavior) that one might use to assess if they think the company will have a long term ability to generate more $. But the goal is always to generate more $s in the future.
Apple's shrinking market share of the smartphone market doesn't matter, because they are achieving their goal of profit generation. Blockbuster died maintaining a great market share of the video store rental market that disappeared. Netflix lost all DVD rental market share and pivoted the whole company to a streaming service. All of them the goal remains generate profits.
Sure - but the goal remains the same. More profit $ in the future. CEOs need to build confidence that they can do that sustainably and for a long period of time. And people will judge the methods to build this confidence. But the goal remains the same. Elon has both been very successful and very unconventional in his ability to do this. And that's great - we should always strive to give a lot of freedom in this and allow the best to win. It's a nice mirror of nature - try w/e crazy idea you want, and if it works, it works!
The "credit" one deserves in business success isn't about having created a successful business. It's for having fought and survived the psychological trauma that one goes through to create a successful business.
Not everyone will have the opportunity to slay a dragon. But in my opinion those who have the opportunity, and succeed, are deserving of recognition.
