Punish the users that use it the most? Sounds fair

Gone are the days where people are searching for websites. People are searching for answers. This trend started when Google Search added a calculator. I distinctly remember when Google started showing answers to simple questions like “what is the elevation of Everest” nearly 15 years ago. This is just the next evolution of that.

This is amazing and even works on a phone. Controls are intuitive and no bugs or glitches. Incredible.

Have you used Zulip? The UX is basically chat for vim and tmux users. It doesn’t “feel” like chatting. Not exactly user friendly.

Ironically, GitHub became popular because it gave everyone a centralized repo—exactly the thing people liked about SVN.

`git history reword` is great. Using `git rebase -i` just to fix a spelling error is overkill and doesn’t actually do what I want.

Because Claude Code provides me more value than simply a chat agent. Claude Code is the only thing I pay for. I can do chat things with the free tier across all the LLMs.

I think people underestimate execution. When something is done well, it looks easy. But if it was so easy, why are other competitors struggling to execute the same thing?

I think you underestimate what he does. It seems simple and obvious in hindsight, but if it were so easy, others would not be so far behind. A difficult thing done well looks easy. Reminds me of when Toyota disrupted auto manufacturing.

Under Tim Cook, Apple has pretty much exclusive access to certain parts and suppliers. Apple buys up all the silicon. Competitors can’t compete at the same quality without paying a premium, which digs into margins. It’s one of the reasons why non-Apple stuff feels so cheap. This lockdown allows Apple to have huge margins compared to competitors because Apple pays a discounted rate due to sheer volume.

Isn’t this kind of like the Nvidia/OpenAI deal? Just circulating debt/money

I really hope they fire whoever is in charge of Liquid Glass. Whoever is leading Apple software has run out of ideas. Of all the countless things they could be doing in software, we got the useless Liquid Glass refactor.

The “system” knows who can vote, even if there might not be a unified system currently to automatically validate that.

Ignoring the gamblers losing money because they lack insider information, the harm is that you changed the incentive for war. It is motivated by money for the gamblers, not military or political objectives. The difference between this and rigged sports gambling is that people die. They die on a whim and they die unnecessarily. I shouldn’t have to explain why people dying is bad.

Technically true, but this concept is foreign to English speakers. English relies heavily on diphthongs and can’t separate the sounds in their head. Simplest example is probably the word “no” which is very much a diphthong.

That’s why they always have such predictable accents in another language.

Only because they promote it. The default experience for a new user on Youtube is to show you content from creators with 5M+ subscribers. It’s a positive feedback loop.

Did you read the article? It’s not a crazy ask. They want multi-user Claude sessions. But what stops the humans from talking to each other? Boom! You suddenly have Slack.

But group chat is chat. Even the chat interface with Claude is chat. You can also say the same for any sort of commenting system. Posts and comments, tweets and comments, etc.

I’ve built such system many times. They’re basically all the same, especially if you introduce real time updates. Channels and threads are just organization strategies.

Except quotation marks look like regular text. I regularly use quotes in prompts for, ya know, quotes.

Same. Feels like “AI slop” was trained on my personal writing style. The quoted text from the article writes with the same voice as mine.

You’ve never worked at MS, have you? PMs aren’t asleep at the wheel. They are doing their job because their performance reviews are tied to adding these top-down goals into the team’s roadmap. That’s the horrible part.

I think people are frustrated because Musk has been pretty up front that Tesla only exists to further his goals for Mars and robots. He doesn’t actually care about selling cars.
