Here at Trigger we're all ravenous consumers of information. We really love some of the existing app solutions but we noticed a few drawbacks. The majority sacrificed timeliness for social relevance or depth. We often got our news later than friends who weren't using aggregators! We also found ourselves living in an increasingly small filter bubble because many of these apps were defining what we'd be interested in by what's popular in our social graph. Trigger is our first attempt at addressing these problems. We hand curate sources (to ensure quality inputs) and use a predictive algorithm to bring you news before it starts trending.

We've also got a kind of cool "extra-social" discovery feature OVERLOOKED that finds the most interesting things your social graph ISN'T reading.

And more conversational IRC, still have a lot of potential for mobile.

There is a difference, with the structure of private subreddits, we felt there is rigidity and for Reddit it is for ONE group of users and topic.

Trigger is mobile-first platform, where we try to make the individual or multiple groups as fluid as you would do in a normal conversation, and everything organised by topics.

Trigger uses Reddit-like structure but in for your private discussions. So it provide more organisation to your conversations, or currently messaging apps.

Things are easier to find, you can have much better flow with all the conversations.

Better conversations start from the trigger topics to friends to keeping up every single conversation.

not all compression are equal, I guess from the senses there are perceptual vs compression rate to consider. For language, it's a cognition issue.

With regards to the automated aggregation vs human powered filter, I would assume email, messages, dm to be closest/most related filter borderline "filter bubble", i.e. human black-box vs white box filter...

what is the mix of sourcing for blogs/article one consumes each day?

Scientific methods are useful, maybe be absolute sometimes, but it is not the everything. Truth, Empathy, Beauty are what we experience and live.
