I have found memories of my PowerBook 100. It was my first computer and everything was just magic back then. Made games and utilities with HyperCard back then. MOved to a LC630 afterward and that so so fast in comparison. I could finally play Marathon without waiting my turn in the LAN parties :D

I was half hoping that would be a press release saying that AppleCare would be bundled with the AppleOne plan... That would have been awesome, but otherwise I never used/needed AppleCare on anything so I guess I would pass.

And for what it is worth, the times I had to use Objective-C, it is a nice superset of C language that reads cleanly and is easy to grasp.

The MBA, 13inch MBP, the bigger imac and the mac min are all old designs that were updated with a M1 processor.

The 2022 update will bring a new industrial design on top of the new architecture. The same way the imac and the 14/16MBP were refreshed with a new design + a new architecture.

My predictions form each:

- MBA -> many colors, white screen/keyboard background (similar to imac)

- MBP 13 -> renamed MacBook, a MBA with more ports, no colors and black screen/keyboard

- iMac -> might be renamed imac pro, black screen and keyboard background. Same small footprint as the consumer imac

- mac mini -> the current mac min is pretty empty. I think we'll see something much more compact but really similar in design.

Actually most countries mandate a % of local content from Netflix. So they sponsor, buy, produce shows for that country and make it available to the world to expend the catalogue. That is quite nice for smaller director/producer to get access to a global crowd.

One better long term solution is to raise salaries. Raising the hourly wage will help fill in some employment.

Sometimes it is better not to be too clever. I built a CRM like app for the construction industry and used "inc.construction" and "inc.services" as the app domain. So customer would have

To be honest your examples were aired on TV some time ago where the normal season was 24 episodes (about 40-45 min long for seasons like Lost) and a half season 10 or 12.

Most of the new shows are between 8 and 12 episodes about an hour long.

They could have gone another route than imposing a bogus security audit and have the devs pay for it. I did an integration with QuickBooks a while back, and they paid/conducted the security audit themselves.

Google could have added a contract that would plainly state that any data needs to be wiped out etc and enforce that contract if anything is fishy.

Google could have created a process to clearly inform the dev that the user wants to delete google related data and impose deadlines on it.

Those are simple, but I think Google was just lazy and listened to a bunch of lawyers instead of thinking out the box.

I have an app that allows to link your email account thru Nylas (with google), now I would have to pay the security audit? No way. I told my customers that any google account that is not a GSuite which whitelisted the app (most of my customers corporate) that they might have warning dialog when connecting their gmail account. There is a limit of 100 linked account without verification ;(
